Popular roadside restaurante which is in need of refurbishment. is ok but nothing special. Generous sized Tortilla served cold in a very small plate when it tastes better warmed up. Grilled fish with boiled potatoes was ok but could be served warmer. House red wine was although with tempranillo grape not very Ribeiro. Desserts were ok. Service was good. Think place has seen better days and standards have dropped. P.S. I've upgraded my rating to 4* as on my second visit the was better with no complaints. home cooked food from broth to fried squid to flan desert. Service was excellent and Patricia smiles all the time and speaks English. place to grab some typical food, best you just take the lunch which is pretty varied. Very well done bread, actually impressive! Very nice service. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is very local, very Spanish, they could use more workers. Our waiter was working about 15 tables by herself. She was resilient and corrected any minor deficiencies with what we wanted and with a beautiful smile. Superbusy restaurant, waited 40+ minutes for a table for lunch. I was expecting this restaurant to have a pleasant atmosphere and really food and we were disappointed. The staff is overloaded and cannot provide service with obviously too much to do. When our food arrived, we had no cutlery and had to sit waiting even longer. We were stuck in a small dining room area where there was only us and a table of 14 people, all of them shouting at top volume. They were having fun, obviously, but it was not pleasant for us - we couldn't hear each other over the noise. All four of us ordered from the del día and the food was - not great - but no complaints, except for one of the fish dishes that was burnt on one side. The only thing that made this lunch in any way better than average was the bread - really amazingly delicious bread. All in all it was a disappointing lunch visit and I doubt we'll return. Fantastic hidden gem on the N120. Full when we arrived at 1430 but we were promised a table. Well worth waiting as both the food and staff were excellent. We will certainly return very very soon 😋 I'm going to keep this simple. If you want the best of the day in a 30 km radius this is the place. I'm English and live in the area and the food and people here are second to none. Very nice local restaurant, don't speak English, but Google translator helps. Daily just €10, 3 courses, plus nice house wine 🍷 finished off with a coffee ☕. Highly recommend, pleasant atmosphere and very busy. We stumbled across this place while driving from Ourense to Porto. Honestly, if you need a place to eat around this area, don't even question it. Amazing food and reasonable prices. The service was great too even with the language barrier. They do offer a set of the day but we went for the main option instead.
