This is one of my favorite niche museums in the world. Definitely come for the tour. The founder Luis is amazing in his knowledge of all of the devices especially the cultural impact of each item. The tour is about 90 minutes long and not ideal for very small children because the items are all very delicate. There is also a gift shop that has some cute unique musical gifts to take home some of the magic. Very nice museum! Absolutely amazing collection. It’s worth the drive from lisbon! I walked for over an hour... it was worth it but it saves you a lot of time if you take a taxi... Why I think you should go and visit this museum? Because it gives a great overview of how machines evolved over the past 200 years! Due to the unique it is one of the most distinguished museums in Portugal.The place full of and joy and history. It is recommended to visit in weekends that you can hear the automatic instruments played instead of listening to sound recordings. There are also temporary exhibitions and workshops sometime. The is a bit far, that you need to drive or take a train to the station Pinhal Novo. Outside of the train station there is a taxi stand where you can find phone numbers to call a taxi, and the is about 10-15 mins drive from the station.
