Disappointed and Concerned — A Decline at LIDO Damme I’ve been visiting LIDO Damme for several years and always appreciated its consistent quality and welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, today marked a significant and disappointing shift — the worst experience I’ve had so far. The portions were noticeably reduced, and the quality of the food was far below what I’ve come to expect. My bifšteks was undercooked to the point that blood pooled into the sauce — completely unacceptable for a dish served in a public restaurant. I’ve attached photos as evidence. What’s more troubling is the change in atmosphere. The removal of Russian-language food descriptions felt exclusionary, especially in a tourist-friendly EU country. As someone who is not Russian but speaks the language, I felt judged and unwelcome. When I asked about the wait for a chicken šašlyk, the staff responded with visible discomfort — both in Russian and later in English. It gave the impression that even communication in Russian was discouraged or “banned,” which is deeply concerning. This is not the LIDO I used to know. I’ve always rated it 5 stars, but today I’m forced to change that to 1 — only because there’s no option for negative stars. I sincerely hope this is not the new standard, and that LIDO reflects on how it treats its guests, especially those who come with respect and appreciation. Could be less salt in food. A little bit complicated driving route to the central Riga. Free and big car parking area. 24.05 Borsch was not good. Started getting sour. I told it to young girl, she did apologize and went to try it. No one offered even small salad or dessert in exchange. Rice wasn't delicious ether, although usually it was good. It wasnt the first I didnt like the meal, although before I ate there regularly. 28.05 Went before closing. Had a small potion of mashed potatoes, chichen and sauce. At least it was delicious. I even arrived a bit later — after 32 minutes — expecting that the order would definitely be ready. However, when I arrived, I was told that nothing had been prepared yet and I would need to wait another 15 minutes. During all that time, there was no call or message to inform me about the delay. As a result, I just wasted my time. Very disappointed with this kind of attitude toward customers. No alternative, no solution - “we issue a refund”. You waste they don’t care. Food quality is below average, with too high price tag for quality like this. Very dirty. No knifes,forks and spoons available; extremely rude staff blaming being overloaded. Most of dishes are either unavailable or have to wait. Staff works without gloves - bringing forks,knifes etc with bare hands… Disgusting feeling…. Too noisy. Highly unreccomended!!! Menu is super small, not much of selection I haven't visited this establishment for a long time, and today 15.09.25 I decided to have a snack and was disappointed. Firstly, the French fries and calamari rings packaged in small containers were barely warm, the potatoes were dry and it seemed that they were not quite fresh. Secondly, I decided to drink draft kvass, when I started pouring, the mug was mostly filled with foam and not kvass wasted money I recommend it for the food options, taste, price and atmosphere. I was ordering a lot from this place by Wolt, but this i ordered and they forgot to put souce in there, and most crazy thing , I got hair in my “cūkgaļa ar sieru un tomātiem” … Good as in all Lido chain places, but downside in this place is not a lot of places to sit for bigger groups of people and if I'm not wrong the toilet is only in Shopping mall toilets and if nothing has changed you have to pay to get in the toilet. The interior and atmosphere of ''LIDO'' Damme restaurant are welcoming and homey, but there could be more space between the tables. The restaurant's staff were helpful, polite, and motivated. The meal was delicious. Always missing food when using delivery services. Food is blank and usually badly cooked. I do not recommend going there.
