No explanatory boards or signs. Nice view of the valley towards Kalamata. Free entrance. Πάνω σε μικρό υψωματάκι σώζεται ουσιαστικά η μια πλευρά του τείχους του κάστρου της Ανδρούσας και δύο πύργοι. Φράγκικο του 1250, χτίστηκε από τον Γουλιέλμο Β' Βιλλεαρδουίνο (τον επονομαζόμενο και «Καλαμάτα» ή «Μακρυδόντη») κι επόπτευε τον κάμπο της Καλαμάτας μέχρι και το κάστρο της. Πολλοί οι αφέντες αυτού του κάστρου. Από τους πρίγκιπες της Αχαΐας, τους Ναβαρραίους από τη βόρεια Ισπανία και τους Ιππότες του Αγίου Ιωάννη της Ρόδου έως τους Παλαιολόγους του Μυστρά, τους Τούρκους το 1460 και τον Μοροζίνι...οι Τούρκοι το κράτησαν μέχρι το 1821. Από τα πρώτα χρόνια της νέας αυτής περιόδου Τουρκοκρατίας, το κάστρο έχασε τον αμυντικό του ρόλο και τη σημασία του και ερήμωσε. Υπάρχει χώρος στάθμευσης και ελεύθερη είσοδος.
