Very nice place full of coffee shops and taverns. Meeting point. Difficult to park. Visited March 2024 We truly loved the city of Sparta...it was very quiet and safe with lots of history. The Central had a concert being setup for the Friday evening we were there. Lots of cafes and restaurants and bakeries in the area around the square. Perfect for couples of families. Sparta was truly a highlight of our travels thru Greece! The central of Sparta goes back to 1834 when King Otto founded the new town and ask German architect Stauffert to devise a plan. In 1909 the town hall was built, a beautiful neoclassical building. Some of the neoclassical buildings are still visible around the square. It is a lively gathering place and worth a visit. The central plaza of Sparta, with a plethora of cafeterias and restaurants to eat or spend your evening with friends and family. Ideal for relaxing while being next to almost everything. Το δημαρχείο αξιολύπητο από κάτω καφέ ρεστοράν που ήταν το άγαλμα του Λεωνίδα θα έπρεπε να δεσπόζει την πλατεία περήφανα μαζί με άλλα γλυπτά και πράσινο. Και όχι τίγκα στα καφέ. Βαψτε και λίγο το δημαρχείο έφυγα με απογοήτευση κριμα.. Truly an amazing place to gather with friends and family for food, drinks, music and all forms of entertainment. If you come to Sparta you definitely have to sit back and relax and talk to all the people. Restaurants and servers are truly amazing and you can never go wrong with the incredible Greek food from all the restaurants Belle place centrale au cœur de la ville. Très animée, en journée comme en soirée grâce à ses nombreux commerces et bars/ cafés tout autour. Je retiens surtout cette belle statue sur l'un de ses flancs. De taille imposante et bien réalisée. Très jolie. It has a good history with plenty of shops and resturants around. if you are new to Greece I would recommend going here. Good spot. lots of options to eat and drink. Laid back but once you veer off the center and to the near by villages there is charm, character and great scenery. Mediterranean food all around.
