Restaurant Löwen

Langenthal, Switzerland Swiss restaurant

One of the Best Places To Visits in Berken Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. We had a quick lunch in this countryside eatery, located close to the Aare river the first Saturday of March 2024 before going out on a bird photoshoot. We chose fish from a rather restricted menu and were served deep fried trout. Unfortunately, the high temperature in the oil will overcook the thin filets of fish, contrary to if a chunk of haddock had been used like in a classical fish and chips dish. Like often in Swiss restaurants, potatoes were undercooked. The service is impeccable and the wine list is rich, filled with both domestic and foreign options. We chose wine by the glass that was good but not cheap for what was in the glass. Finally, we always remove one star when being billed for tap water despite having an alcoholic beverage. Absolutely delicious food in an intimate setting, this place was great for dinner. We had a good time at the “lion”. Specials were original and made from local ingredients. The veal tongue carpaccio and stinging nettles soup were delicious. Prime rib main dish and sides well presented and flavorful. The book of wines is almost overwhelming. Helpful are the icons that give indications on what could work well. Waiters were attentive and had time for a chat even though the place was completely booked. Well done! Service, food, ambience par excellence! Love the non-alcoholic beverage options. The best that's around. Nice service and a team that's open for new things and experiments. A real pearl. Great food, lovely staff and place (we sat outside in the garden). The staff was really attentive without being intruding. Just perfect! They told me to switch to a significantly cheaper (yet fine) wine, because the first wine was too young yet. And they asked if they could bring a second helping. The Cordon Bleu and trout was excellent. This restaurant is a must! Excellent food with very friendly staff. Make sure to reserve in advance. Lovely food paired with great wines and fantasically well practiced hospitality Thank you for your hospitality and kindness. You are wonderful.
