Perfect place to have a beer after a walk. The staff is perfect, place is perfect, beer is perfect. All you need to do yourself is get the weather right (.. no.. kidding.. you can sit indoors if you didn't manage the weather.. even that is perfect). Nice group accommodation. Friendly and helpful hosts, good equipment. Our accommodation had 10 small individual bedrooms with each 2 bunk beds. The tour of the historic site is very interesting and definitely worth the time. After a 3 month cycling trip across seven countries, our visit to Buitengoed de Panoven stands out as one of our fondest and most positive memories. It was pouring rain and we were disheartened as all of the nearby campsites were unattended. Fortunate for us, and with the help of a few friendly locals, we were able to get a hold of the owners who kindly set us up a spot in a shed to take refuge from the rain. This kindness stands out clearly in my memory and I still have a Buitengoed de Panoven brochure on my wall as a reminder of what great treasures can be found in the pounding rain. Most highly recommended. We booked the place for our wedding, the grote droogloods and most of the rooms in the lodge and comfort kamers. The organisation from their side was really poor. We were also promised things which were not delivered (and which were a deal breaker for us). Luckily we found out a few weeks before our wedding that they could not comply and found a plan B. Unfortunately too late to book another place for our wedding. It is overall quite old, but it seems that they are currently trying to renovate. I do not recomment this group accomodation for large groups/events as they do not seems equiped to handle it. Friendly, diligent and hospitable staff and service. Private, clean and hygienic accommodations. Interesting range of events and services across large area. Food served in cozy cabin restaurant. Quiet location with nature to explore yet close to town and transportation links. Great for solos and groups of all sizes.
