Karuc is a hidden gem on Skadar Lake, perfect for a peaceful escape. This charming fishing village offers stunning views, traditional architecture, and a tranquil atmosphere. A great spot to relax and enjoy nature! A tiny village on a spot of the river. Locals take tours there. The road to it is challenging- carrot and stip with lots of curves. It’s not really worth the effort. For international tourists I recommend to skip it A small village by the with a few establishments for eating and exploring the by or kayak. While virpazar had many times more options, we liked this one much better. It was less crowded, no parking hustlers, and also the views are just better. What an awesome scenic little town. I wanted to get some good photos of Skadar that we're more natural and this place really delivers the goods. I didn't stay or eat here but came only for photography. The best time is probably around sunset as the morning light would blind the camera. Stunning place that has kept it's rural vibe while being clean and beautiful. It's a fishery and fishing town. Probably one of the best areas for photos besides being out on the (which I did from another area). Overall, I think late August, when the lilypads are blooming would be another great opportunity. I'll be back for more shots later. Beautiful nature but not worth the drive here. The road is not good and the place is actually deserted. We loved this place! Great food in the restaurant, which you can access by only. Nice rental, too, we took a SUP and a kayak, went not far, saw some birds and had a great swim. Superb experience! Must visit place. Seems like it is out of Avatar. We were planning to skip this place, but we are so happy that we decided to go. The restaurant on the water is must visit, you will get on their and they will transport you to there. Their local aged fish is a no brainer. You can also go for a swim if you'd like. If you want to disconnect from your devices, then this remote fishing 🎣 village is great. Just hang around, eat, drink, do some fishing. Take it easy for a couple of days. Nice town but much too touristic - feels like a tourist trap than anything else. We took a cruise from here to Skadar lake, which was nice and worth it. The place is very beautiful. A little outdated and not very well maintained. The road is dilapidated. But it's worth getting there. Take a to a restaurant on the other side of the river and jump into the water to refresh yourself. Not much here but the end of a beautiful and a few restaurants - it's great. Take provisions with you as shopping is inconvenient. Top tip is to go on a kayak as you can see the nature much better than on a motor boat. What a magical place. We had some drinks a took a tour of one hour. The drive to this place was a bit challenging (small road with many holes), but worth it ones you are there. Karuč is a hidden gem on the shore of Skadar, known for its untouched nature and peaceful atmosphere. The place breathes authentic Montenegrin spirit, with old stone fishermen’s houses and stunning views of the lake. It’s perfect for those seeking to escape the crowds and enjoy silence, fishing, or a ride. The water is clean and clear, and the surroundings provide a sense of peace and connection with nature. Visiting Karuč is a true experience for lovers of tradition and natural beauty. Unmissable place and trip to do absolutely with Andrea (from Sunny Terraces)! He took us for a 2-hour ride in his typical wooden where he guides us in perfect English and brings to life through his anecdotes the culture and history of his country in breathtaking landscapes. I recommend !!! If you’re looking to visit a unique place in Montenegro, I highly recommend this spot. It’s only accessible by boat, but luckily, the staff at Karuc offer free transportation to the location. They’re incredibly friendly and provide excellent service.
