We visited here at the end of a guided tour around the village, taking in Sant'Andrea di Compito, IL Tè biologico di Guido Cattolica, the church Sant'Andrea Apostolo and VILLA BORRINI. The tour of the village was much more interesting than this collection of camellia, unless perhaps for those who are particularly interested in growing different hybrids. Lovely walk and everything has a description of what type of plant they are. Lots of information , well thought out. If you are around do stop by Or if you are into flowers Hundred of types of flowers I wouldn’t leave Lucca only to see this attraction. If you want to spend your day in a small village with nature, here is good choice. Nice beautiful gardens! Entrance cost 4€ per person cash only, recommended! A very nice and pleasant experience. For people that like flowers and enjoy the outdoors, this will be a day well spent. You can see so many varieties of camelia in bloom all around. You'll have to leave your car in a park about 2 km away, but when you buy the ticket a bus to and from the exhibit is included (7€). You can take a map and explore freely. Some places sell camelia seeds and others have Italian grown tea to enjoy. There is also a guide that will explain the history of the flowers, in Italian, that is very nice. You can also buy camelias in a vase to take home. Sheer joy to be the only visitors on a foggy weekday morning in this beautiful garden. Hundreds of blooming camellias. Very well designed and kept. A kind , wise man at the entrance, willing to answer questions about the plants.
