There are benches to sit and enjoy the view and rest after the up. Its a fairly easy hike up to the but lots of loose rock under foot. Lots of wildlife to see on the route too. Darwen is a fantastic spot for a hike with breathtaking over Lancashire. The up is rewarding, and on a clear day, you can see as far as Wales. A place for nature lovers and photographers. Be prepared for windy conditions at the top, but it's well the climb! Nice with view over the surrounding areas. The itself was open and free to climb, which was a nice surprise. up. Think we took a wrong turning somewhere and went the long way! another trek though! There were little kids and guys on bikes up there! has been revamped and provides excellent all around in a clear day. I walked from Crookfield road car park which was just short of 6 miles round trip. You can park up closer and make the trip shorter. Very windy at the top today but a nice up and free up the tower. The I love starts through the woods and leads to the Reservoir, a place to through on hot sunny days, that will be the next mini adventure. Surprised you can go inside and up the stairs. Cracking and some lovely walks to get there. Id recommend taking the path directly from Darwen town as there's a beautiful river that's a look on the route. Also free to enter and get around. Very cool place, nice steep up to the but views. Lovely up to the via Bold Venture Park, it is a steep in places but well it for the Beautiful jubilee and a lovely up to the Darwen with some beautiful views!
