Small of the man who started the Merry that is now under the care of the direct descendants. You will find here a fascinating story and be able to see how the legacy is carried forward. To be honest this was a far better experience for me than the itself and I'd say it's a mandatory when in the village to get a better perspective on its history. I strongly recommend you to complete your to the Merry by visiting this little museum. The tradition started here in the 1930s is currently being kept alive by the family living here. The wife of the man making the painted gravestones today showed me around and explained the exhibition. Legendary Merită vizitată această casă memorială pentru a afla povestea celui care a început să facă crucile din Săpânța. This is definitely a must must place to in Maramures! This is the place where the artist of handcrafted crosses from Merry lived and worked. It is very well preserved, with furniture from his lifetime and various objects realised by him. Next to the you can also the workshop where he handcrafted these objects and where Mr. Dumitru Pop Tincu (one of his students) is still keeping his passion and style alive! The tax for entry is for 10 RON for adults and reduced price for children. The is close to the merry and you can also order objects there, to be realised by Mr. Dumitru Pop Tincu. I highly recommend this place!!! The memorial of the Merry Founder at Săpânţa is a place to visit. The where it lived, the workshop in which the villagers are in the wood are memorable images. The also has a guide that tells visitors Stan John Squari. Take yourself from time and this memorial place. It is worth fully. The and workshop of the creator and his succesors. His family lives there and are very lūvely. They were so kind to tell the story of mr. Patras and the cemetery. Definetely add this to your to list Lovely in very good condition that belonged to the founder of the Merry Cemetery. It is a short walk from the Merry and in my opinion much more enjoyable as it is (unfortunately) less visited and you can actually enjoy the place. At the we were greeted by the man that actually continues the tradition of making the wodden grave stones for the today. Definetely worth a visit! Biletul este foarte ieftin. O doamnă foarte amabilă, soția artistului, ne-a povestit totul despre istoria cimitirului, a lucrărilor, ne-a arătat casa, lucrările, atelierul. Recomand vizitarea casei memoriale o dată cu cimitirul Most of the visitors are only visiting "Merry Cemetery", not also this small museum, hence seeing only the "result", without information on how it started or what it means. The museum is small and we were expecting to spend only few minutes there, but since our family was the only visitors by the time we were there, the lady who takes care about the place gave us a lot of details and she would have been probably open to speak us the entire day about the history of the and the ones who created the funerary stones, but also about other places worth to in Sapanta. According to her, currently there is a single person who is still creating the stones, he is working in the same yard where this museum is located and he was a disciple of Stan Ioan Patras Must see. Happy Wonderful museum. Everyone visitting the cementery should go here! You can hear the story of the creator of the idea of the merry cementery from the family of his student, who was also his follower. The story is really detailed and interesting for all age visitors. Also in really nice english. You can also see the workplace. Nice, homemade atmosphere. Great experience to see from where everything started. It is the memorial of the man who started the idea behind Sapanta and his workshop - if you Sapanta you should go and see it. Super frumoasa experiența.
