A very nice and romantic ruin of a cloister. It has a quite long tradition as a summer theater. This makes some rooms not visible for tourists. But on the other hand it provides steady income for renovations and running costs. Shops were pricey, therefore the visit outside and in the manor was free. Cafe was nice, good cake. It is rare to find a ruined abbey in Sweden, so take your chance while on Gotland! The associated craft shops and art spaces are excellent. The medevial Roma abbey ruins are worth visiting of you are interested in the older history of Gotland. The visible ruins are from the abbey church and they are also used as a lovely backdrop for an outdoor theater stage. The theater company Romateatern stages Shakespeare plays here during the summer nights. Close to the ruins a manor house called Roma kungsgård which is still standing. It's used for exhibitions, sales of handicrafts, meetings etcetera. Best stage at Gotland always with good entertainments Ruins of the church. Fun to see, they have a store with Roma glass, very pretty stuff Mijn eerste stop op Gotland was het Roma klooster, volgens de gidsen een must-see. Nice souvenirs. Nice place. Pretty greenery. It was amazing experience at same time cold. Impressive monastery ruins, cafe and some shops. Been during closing time so can't say more that it is a blessing touch ruins from XII century Klosterhistorie und Kunsthandwerk, schöne Kombination Helt ok ruin Not much to see, even in early September everything is closed. Might be better when artists and crafts shops are open or one is visiting a play.
