Most Beautiful fishing Harbor on this island For us this was clearly the nicest village to visit on this island. It had everything, a superb harbour, lots of restaurants & shops. The food was also great and it was easy to park. Overall we really rated this a 5 out of five place. Even with the bad weather it was nice. If you are thinking in have dinner over there, make a reservation if you want to eat before 9pm. Prices $$. One of my favorite places in France. It is only 3.5h drive from our house so we go there very often. This year we have been here almost every month. This port is one of the most beautiful port in France. Small, charming, and the colors of the village are just sublime. It does take a very experienced and skillful captain to be able to navigate and dock inside this small port. There are tons of restaurants and boutiques all over the island and especially here in St Martin. A perfect paradise to spend the summer. Beautiful place to wander around. Lovely atmosphere there, great shops and restaurants. Great place to spend a day. Ile De Re is a beautiful but busy port . Hordes of tourists in the summer months . Boats come and go as do day trippers . It is expensive here - something I don’t particularly care for given I am a seasoned traveller . You can cut costs by heading to the market . There is a nice cafe where you can have salmon, prawns and oysters . There is also a baguette place . Well worth a visit and was on my hit list . What an incredible place. It's like it's been snatched out of a different century and dropped into the current one. There's a great sense of community here, with locals greeting each other on the streets and dropping into shops to say hello and chat for a moment. There are Christmas trees on the corner of every shop, outdoors, with tasteful decorations. Lights are strung up on the facades of the buildings. It's just a stunning place. Charming village with small boutiques and good restaurants with reasonably priced hotels Very pretty harbour, with plenty of shops, cafes and open air seating. Interesting Vauban port. Lovely views.
