I had a wonderful with the amazing people of Haliotis last autumn. The gear was in shape and the guide was knowledgeable and very helpful. Least not forget, the underwater world at the Berlengas is stunning! I hope to come back some day. We completed our PADI open waters course with Haliotis in Peniche and we couldn't be happier with it. The course consisted in 2 of theory and the first water experiences in the swimming pool and, on the two following days, we headed to Berlengas for the real fun stuff: the Atlantic waters in one of the most majestic spots in Portugal. Bruno was our instructor and with his help we could see a huge progress throughout the 4 we stayed with them for the course. All the staff is super friendly and their equipment's are in conditions and we felt extremely comfortable and welcome. We honestly could not have asked for a better or a better school than Haliotis. We saw octopuses, Ocean Sun-fish, crabs, lobster and countless fish. We felt completely confident going into the final exam and Haliotis was able to certify us on the spot. If you are planning to learn how to or to do a first try we would recommend them. In just four we completed our PADI Open Water Diver Course and we are now certified to around the world! We had a with Haliotis, completing our PADI's open waters course. Bruno was our instructor and he was fun, professional, very competent and laid back. Learning the basics was not too difficult thanks to precise and easy-to-follow instructions. He pointed out the different sea life and would tell us the names of each creature in Portuguese and English. We did two trips to Berlenga Island and even though it was a bit of a cloudy day we had a time. They have a friendly atmosphere and the material was in really conditions. We learned a lot not only about but as also about what other treasures the ocean hides from us. Thanks for a week Haliotis! Had a fantastic with Haliotis center with 2 by Berlengas islands. The equipment we rented was excellent. One was by the forte and the other was the Primavera wreck. We saw octopus, starfish and types of fish. The vibes were very good. Definitely will with them again and explore other sites. Spent two with Haliotis at Berlangas. Very friendly staff, well organized and equipment. Weather was rough so visibility was low, but knowledge and flexibility from the captain ensured we had nonetheless. I have done my OWD course here and I have been very satisfied with the centre. Everyone in the centre speaks fluent English and is very kind. All the gear was modern and the facility clean. I had to postpone my open water multiple times because of sickness and that was no problem with the centre (special thanks to Luísa and her kindness). I would totally recommend this centre! Had an amazing day with alfonso and the whole haliotis crew! Very professional and vibes. Clear briefs and amazing sites with lots of life! Especially loved interacting with the octopi underwater. Betlangas island is beautiful and they even gave us some snacks between when we sailed around the island. 10/10 Unforgettable experience! The journey from Lisbon to Berlengas was totally worth it. The natural beauty of Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean in this location is simply breathtaking. We were exploring Carreiro dos Cações and Ilhéu Maldito during our two dives, and both spots were absolutely stunning. These sites were not only scenic but also well-protected from waves and currents, making the safe and enjoyable. The highlight of our second was exploring three mesmerizing caves. Special thanks to our incredible instructor, Hillary! Her expertise and guidance made the smooth and enjoyable. This center is one of the most reliable in Portugal. Being PADI certified and having multiple branches across the mainland and islands. I'll definitely choose them again. Recently completed the Open Water cert here and had the best time! Rosa was an incredible teacher - patient, fun and thoughtful! By the end of our three days, our little group was just a bunch of friends :D We had a fantastic day with Luisa and her team in September 2025 and only regret that we did not have more for diving. Everything was perfect: the equipment, the boat, the briefings, the guided and the pastéis de nata on board. We are already looking forward to coming back and can absolutely recommend HALIOTIS Dice Center in Peniche. I spend 3 at Haliotis center in Peniche, doing my Advanced Open Water certificate and it was an absolute pleasure. The instructors and staff were friendly helpful and very pleasant. The equipment was in very conditions and all the went as planned. In short, a perfect experience. I had Afonso as my master, and he was outstanding from start to finish. From patient pool training to guiding us through the open water dives, he helped me move past a lot of anxiety and fear. By the end, I felt more confident in my abilities than I ever expected. If you’re new to and looking for supportive, effective coaching, Haliotis Peniche is the place to go. Honestly, the whole team has incredible energy and teaching skills; I definitely feel lucky to have had Afonso with me through the full 3-day journey. What made it special is that it felt like much more than just a course or certification, it was a real experience. On top of the itself, it was my first in Berlengas/Peniche, and with this crew I got to see not only amazing underwater life but also the stunning, unique views of the islands. Next I’m in Peniche, I’ll definitely reach out to them again. They offer way more than just certifications.
