We had our book Xmas do here and the food was fantastic. Plenty of it, roasties nice and crisp, turkey was moist plates were hot. super friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I will return! Thanks shroppy. Nice course with some really stunning views, tee and fairway were in fantastic condition and the were fast and tricky to read. In the house the service was from the very friendly staff. Overall we had a very day as a society. The Shropshire Golf Centre in Telford offers a unique golfing experience with its three distinct 9-hole courses. Each course presents its own challenges and rewards, making it suitable for golfers of all skill levels. The Gold Course is the longest of the three and is known for its picturesque layout, with winding streams and scenic ponds adding to the ambiance. The Silver Course is considered the most demanding, featuring some truly memorable that will test even the most experienced golfers. The Blue Course provides a balance of challenge and enjoyment, offering stunning views across the Shropshire countryside. While the themselves are well-maintained and offer a pleasant golfing experience, some reviews have mentioned inconsistencies in the condition of the greens. However, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the clubhouse contribute to a positive overall experience. Overall, The Shropshire Golf Centre is a worthwhile destination for golfers in the Telford area. The variety of and the setting make it a place where you can enjoy a challenging and enjoyable round of golf. The and facilities were excellent. Lovely food, excellent I've deleted my previous review, which was edited but, in general, a very poor review both times. Once for a completely frozen course and shouldn't have been open, the other, a completely waterlogged cause and again, shouldn't have been open. Today, 17/5/25. I've looked forward to today since our society day booked it, 6 or so weeks ago. We played blue and silver. The first few we're awful with and bare patches all over them. 2 or 3 or thr fringes we're so wet, there were muddy puddles from the sprinklers. If you hit the fringe with a pitch, there's a chance it would plug. The first bunker I was in, I was faced with a rake with half the teeth missing. Several, probably 4 or 5 tee boxes, had loads of stones all over them. Nobody wants to be swinging a £500 driver and having stones all over the tee boxes, possibly damaging your club. There were probably 5 or 6 tee that had so many divots taken out of them. It was hard to find a place to stand without your feed being uneven because 1 was in 1 of them. Out of 18 holes, none had sand/seed on them to put in your divot. On 2 green side bunkers, they sprinklers had been used so much that they had eroded the bunkers and made them look terrible. Overall, this course, for the money paid, is absolutely shocking. I'd go as far as saying that the council course in horsehay is better than this. Simple things like replacing broken rakes, getting stones off tee boxes, and putting sand and see on par 3s would be simple quick fixes to make a really poor course much better. I made a comment while walking around that it's like the course is being looked after by an apprentice that doesn't know what they are doing yet. I won't be playing it again if it comes up in our society. I spoke to a couple of members of last year at the new driving range and they both told me, the owners don't listen to the groundsman about not opening when it's frozen or waterlogged, they said they are told to open it regardless because it's money. I feel sorry for the members that pay money for really, really poor course. Anyone that's given this course 5 stars can't have much experience of quality because this certainly doesn't deserve 3, let alone 5. The toilets didn't have any hand sanitizer in them. Also, card only at the till is ridiculous. Covid was 5 years ago. Let's see if the reply to this review like they have the couple of reviews below. Nice looking place Great, relaxed venue. Fantastic Trackman driving range where you pay by the hour, instead of for balls. Facilities are also very good, with refreshment available at the range and wonderful food in the clubhouse. The 3 x 9 hole are very well designed, with the silver and gold being my preference for 18holes. Buggy hire available from the proshop and they never seem to run out. It's a shame the course struggles to drain after heavy rain and the need a little qoek to bring them on. Unrepaored pitchmarks are also a problem that I feel the management might want to address withore signage asking players to sort before leaving the green. That's my only gripe, other wise I find The Shrophire a great and always enjoy my time there. Also, they ha e 2 x large putting chipping that are available to all. We'll worth a visit. Played the silver blue route (3 lots of 9 hole) and loved every minute of it , fairways are like carpet and the are perfect. Bacon butty left alot to be desired though ! Challenging beautifully kept course. On the long side therefore it will test your long iron play. There are 3 full sized 9 hole which are picked for you randomly on the day which keeps it fresh and they are all of a standard. The house is and the food is to a standard and swift. Overall a great place to play and socialise. Unfortunately we visited for a wake but plenty of parking and a comfortable spacious room was set aside for us and the buffet food was also and plentiful. Took 40 players from our society here and played all 3 in a Ryder Cup format. Communication and assistance from all of the staff, especially Catrina was excellent. Very eager to accommodate and she was backed up by the other on the day who did everything they coukd to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. Very interesting which we played as Blue (fourball), silver (foursome) and gold (singles). Each brings its different challenges but all 3 were in excellent condition are are well looked after. Food and drink is of a high quality and very reasonably priced, especially the society packages. This really is a lovely course with some outstanding views and the members we spoke to were all polite and welcoming. We'll be going back again. We got married here yesterday and the day was perfect. The is beautiful, and the food was great. The at the could not have been better, everything was done perfectly and they really helped make our day special. Tony the DJ was also fantastic in the evening. The price we paid was very reasonable and the drinks at the bar were also not expensive. All round amazing. Held our wedding here Saturday the day was perfect. The is so stunning and picturesque our photos are just stunning. All our guests said it was a venue. Food was amazing and the dj was brilliant. All especially Sam, who made the room she organised everything and everyone. Would highly recommend it was the best day of my life. Great facility! We visited here as part of an organised event with our fostering agency and we really did have a lovely time! The DJ and magician was amazing and the food was even better. Thank you for being so accommodating, we will be back! We got married at the Shropshire August 2023, the most magical day from start to finish. Everything from the venue, and food was fantastic. We had none stop compliments from our guests regarding the food! we will treasure the memories forever we couldn’t fault a single thing. Thank you everyone 💓 We got married here on 20-10-2025 and the itself was absolutely stunning. The were amazing and made the whole day run perfectly — we couldn’t have asked for better service. The only downside was the upstairs bridal prep area. It really didn’t match the standard of the rest of the — the carpets and bathroom weren’t clean, and the room could use some care and attention. It was a bit disappointing given it’s where the bridal party gets ready and photos are taken. Otherwise, our day was incredible and we’re so grateful to the team for making it so special. Just hope the prep area gets a little love for future brides! 💛 Very interesting & 3 x 9 challenging course. We played Sliver & Blue. On Blue course some of the are tempted to tee off the driver risk & reward. Even if you tee off with iron it has to be very precious. Well maintain course especially & very true greens. The lady at the Pro shop is very helpful & welcoming. Has a day at The Shropshire Golf Yesterday. Could not Fault our experience of the day, From Jill ,such a friendly welcome, same with Stewart at the bar. Buggy was great for one of our party, Course is in great condition even with months of dry Weather, Superb greens, And so reasonably priced felt like a more expensive golf course, Will definitely return, Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
