We had a warm and sunny late afternoon dinner on the terrace of this sympathetic eatery in mid July of 2025. It is situated on the norther end of the Atlantic road and has a beautiful view of the small archipelago towards the south. I had one of the best authentic and chips in a very long time. Good value for money when considering the high costs of eating out in Norway. Highly recommended! When we were traveling by car from north to south to explore the Atlantic Road, we chose to have lunch at this restaurant with an unbeatable sea view and high reviews. The delicious food and the beautiful view made us very satisfied. We are also very grateful to the perfect and friendly service staffs. We highly recommend & chips, stewed in tomato sauce with potatoes, and soup. We also left some messages on their guest book, hoping that more Asians will visit and enjoy here. Simple, welcoming & pleasant service. Nice terrace seating outside facing the Fjord. Clean & comfortable and our group of 5 who all had mostly different lunchtime meals were very satisfied with the speed and quality of lunch. Like the home cooked Sunday meal you haven’t had since your childhood! We had the buffet and every dish was amazing. Multiple dishes with veggies, fish, meat, mussels and great potatoes. Even dessert and coffee are part of the deal. Feels like coming home, highly recommend! Sadly, I won’t be able to review the food… I arrived at 5:00 PM, well before any busy dinner rush, hoping to enjoy a nice meal. There were plenty of empty tables—inside, in the front garden, and even upstairs—but we were not allowed to sit because the staff said they were expecting a large group later on. I explained we were just two people and would likely finish within an hour—well before the group’s arrival. Still, the answer was no. We were told to come back at 8:30 PM, which made no sense. It’s not like we live around the corner and could just come back. We’re travellers, passing through, hoping to try some Norwegian seafood and support the local economy. Their website mentions having “the right to reserve space between 6 and 7:30 PM,” which I totally understand—but I was there at 5:00 PM. I made a conscious effort to come early to avoid peak hours and be respectful of potential reservations. Unfortunately, that didn’t matter. It’s a real shame, because the food looked amazing, and I was genuinely looking forward to trying it. But it seems that individual diners or small groups are not a priority when a tourist bus is expected. I understand needing to prepare for large bookings—but completely refusing walk-ins more than an hour in advance, with the restaurant mostly empty, feels like poor hospitality. Authentic, delicious food. Our first meeting with Norwegian cuisine and what a good start it was. Stopped here on our drive along the Atlantic road and was thoroughly pleased! Food was delicious, staff very friendly and views were excellent! Would recommend to anyone driving through to stop! Beautiful stop for a great meal before or after crossing the Atlantic Road! We ate on their back patio for lunch. It was a peaceful, beautiful setting and great food. The and chips and soup were incredible some of the best we've ever had. Our server was very friendly, he even showed a picture of what it looks like at sunset there, which was equally as beautiful as our lunch.
