Pictoresque and astonishing glazier valley.. Careful with your car mirrors if you are descending it, because it is a very narrow road and I hit with a rock the right side one! Amazing geology and very beautiful Getting there may be a challenge for some, but the views are worth it. Great region, as long as you have your own vehicle. There are many lookouts to stop at for viewing and photos, and the scenery varies from place to place. We did some short walks, which were really lovely with trees and wild alpine flowers. Several towns along each route have coffee, food, or souvenirs so make a full day of it if you can. One of the spots that one of year I need to go to refresh my Zen Nice valley, typical glacial features. Much bare rock, no forest. The most beautiful Nature Has and some guy or guy's just literally light it on fire. It's a very Old Glacier that has 150 to 200 different species of Tree's, insects, and animals only live in this area. 58.000 football size pitch has been taken by the fire. We humans destroy Nature like she doesn't exist, it's about time to change the minds of the new generation because ours have failed to Nature and there's no coming back from what he did... We visited the Zêzere Glacier in November, right after the rain stopped and the sun finally broke through — perfect timing. The whole looked like something out of a postcard, with mist lifting off the mountains and golden light hitting the slopes. We even had a small picnic there, surrounded by incredible views and total peace. It’s an easy place to fall in love with nature all over again — calm, beautiful, and unforgettable. Excelent place for walking, relax and observe nature. Beautiful landscape where you can find peace. This is the most beautiful place in Portugal. While descending into the from the top down to Manteigas, you'll be greeted by amazing views and landscapes. It's fun to drive, but even better to walk. There's a hiking path that goes along the valley, strongly recommended! You can also relax and go for a swim in Rio Zêzere. An hidden oasis in the middle of the valley. The access is still through an old road and there's barely man made structures to support the natural pool, which for a nature lovers is definitely a plus. Beautiful view for a hike and/or picnic.
