The was quite quiet when we visited, which was nice. The toilet/ shower block is dated but clean. The owner lives beside the and will meet you on arrival. She could talk the leg of a table but is a nice lady. There's a couple of pubs and a shop within 5 mins from the site. Pubs open at 7pm. I intend to return again and stay for a few nights to explore the area as we only stayed for one night yo attend a local event. Well-kept, quiet place run by a lady. Very good for people with tents - the area is flat and even. The bathrooms are clean and nicely decorated and there is also a sitting room - great idea! The shower is included in the price of the stay, and it should be like this in all campsites (for some reasons most of Irish campsites think its okay to charge extra for facilities). This is one of the best campsites we have visited. Absolutely spotless, best shower, and toilet I've seen. Nuala is an absolute lady. We'll definitely be back again. Perfect for those looking for an exceptionally peaceful stay away from hustle and bustle and nestled in the most beautiful scenery. Upon checkin I met Nuala, a really lady who is a fountain of information about the local area and anything required. My van is pretty much self sufficient apart from emptying the chem toilet so I didn't really use many of the whilst there but the is laid out well and the landscaping allows for subtle privacy between pitches. If you are after a night life you certainly won't get it here but that is what I loved about it. Perfect peace and quiet and you are left to your own, its generally what we are after when we don't have the kids with us anyway, although the kids would enjoy it here too. Nuala is a lady and it was a pleasure to meet you. We will visit again. A lovely, peaceful with excellent & beautiful countryside views. Nuala is a lovely, friendly host who is very nice to deal with. Very basic no cooking in the campers kitchen bbq all broken. nothing for children to do unless you count the huge ring of granite boulders there for your children to get broke up on I would have given moat farm 2 stars but the hot water in the showers was cold and its not a farm but a glorified field I booked this despite some of the negative reviews about Nuala. I thought she can't be all that bad and maybe some people don't get her sense of humour. How wrong I was! We had visited 10 different sites all around Ireland in 14 days. Most were somewhere between good and very good but none had the Nuala factor. From the minute we arrived Nuala started. She seemed really angry that we hadn't brought cash. I stood there for several minutes getting a dressing down and a lecture about money. I immediately offered to go and get cash but Nuala was enjoying belittling me too much to accept this simple solution. She must have asked me at least 10 times "do you know what money is!?" She then went on to tell me how she didn't normally let people book for just one night and how lucky we were that she was letting us stay and only charging is 50euros. All the time I had my wife and children waiting in the van wondering where I had ended up. If it wasn't for them just wanting to get settled for the night I would have told Nuala where she could stick her site, but she knew she had me stuck there, trapped and destined to carry on listening to her telling me off. I just took it until eventually she told me I could get cash back at the local pub and then tried to sell me her home made jam. But there are reviews on here praising Nuala and the site. If the really was then I might accept I was just one of the unlucky ones, but the wasn't great at all. It's a spot in terms of the views etc., but the toilets and showers were dirty and tired. My wife went to the ladies to find two of the three toilets were blocked. The following morning I went to get a shower to find it was luke warm at best. Nuala had trusted us to pay her the following morning but to avoid a second berating I asked my wife to go. This time Nuala was apparently lovely. Perhaps Nuala is a morning person. Perhaps Nuala gets drunk and angry in the evenings. Perhaps Nuala has a personality disorder. Either way I would definitely give this one a wide berth. As for the positive reviews..... I don't believe a word of them. Even if they only saw the pleasant side of Nuala, to miss the dirty luke warm showers, and the multiple flies who found their last resting place in the soap dispensers, leads me to believe the positive reviews are posted by Nuala herself. If you want grubby run by someone who makes Basil Fawlty look like the purveyor of 5 star hospitality, then this is the place for you. Really enjoyed our stay in Moat Farm. We arrived and were greated by Nula, she was absolutely lovely, very welcoming and had so much information about what was on within the local area and recommended beautiful places worth visiting, even down to having an information brochure and map booklet for us, we were very greatful for all the information which nula provided. She would check on passing that everything was ok for us and if we needed anything we knew to just ask. Park had beautiful scenery and all necessary amenities provided.
