There is a nice old cast iron stove in a small room. It's got some features but nothing great. I didn't see any of the warm welcome raved about elsewhere. The service was quite sullen though some clients were laughing a fair bit. There had been a murder in town the previous day which must have weighed in minds. A wonderful place. The owner is a gentleman. Very good pint of Guinness Now we're talking, porter at its best. Best bar staff supported by a great manager. Best Guinness for miles around and a good blend of clientele. Did I forget to mention Susie.......Hello Hello!! Visited this pub 14th December Coldest night of the year. We stayed locally as to be near Dublin for an early flight. It's the type of pub that when you open the door that you know that you are on a winner. It was warm and friendly. Excellent service. It was quite busy as the local choir were in after practice but the young lady serving was exceptional. That was the starting point for wonderful memories of a dream holiday Nice spot for a break while on The Blueway. Brought the two dogs and sat outside in the garden. I spent a month in Ireland and most my evenings at Mooney's Pub. The bartender and patrons were friendly, the ale was cold, what more could you ask for. Highly recommend Went in for the afters of a funeral of a family friend today waitted over half an hour for a drink while the 2 not so friendly bar staff only worked half the counter and ignored us completely.
