The road was covered by snow and we had no hope to get anything more decent than some gas pump food for winter lunch. Then it was this. We spotted some cars in the parking of Karčiama, which meant it was open! Clearly they had soup! Every place in Lithuania has soup. You can not survive winter here without it. Yepp. The choice was (you wont believe it) sorrel (! I have no idea how to source sorrel in winter) and chilly con carne. We went for the latter taken there was snow outside and whole day of adventure. It was excellent. Not sure cardamon added more taste or took it away, but apart of this it was warming, hearty, true. Took two more with us. Lovely service, nice clients, cosy space. A TV showing annimal planet or so. Very unexpected and totaly awesome! Nice little cafe and restaurant for a quick stop when travelling through the area. Food is ok, sat at a small table for a family. Food served fast, got recommendation from constant comers to try potatoe pankakes with meat. They have it every time they come. And we dis. They were good although oily. This is what I call a true Lithuanian restaurant. The food is good, not 5 star restaurant-like, but it goes well with the countryside atmosphere. Bulviniai blynai su mėsa kaip naminiai, tikrai verta pasmaguriauti !!! :-) As the roof construction isn’t yet finished they still work. Good hot meal, the place to dinner with the kids. Pet friendly. A fine place to relax before starting journey further to the northern part of Lithuania or even returning back to Vilnius. 5 stars in advance. Skanūs bulviniai blyneliai su mėsa, gaila naminės giros neturėjo. Delicious food in a very cozy atmosphere...and with a great staff! Three stars and that's just being generous, the only thing that attracts is convenience. It's along the road and it's nice to sit outside. Skanūs čeburėkai 🙂 Ilgas laukimo laikas. Maisto skonis: vidutiniškai Average food, cheap price. I loved Gira drink! Cosy place, very nice and polite owners. Just visited for desserts. Amazing home made curd pie! Great place especially if you want to stop for food and a rest during a trip. They made food faster than the estimate they gave as well. Food tasted fresh and good for the price. Супер сервис!
