The waves were roaring but the sun was shining. Bursts of wind shook the trees. The ground was covered with gold and brown fallen leaves. The walk by the beach was gentle and the scenery was just like a beautiful dream. A perfect and uncomplicated place to take things slow without the need to strain or push. The forest and brings healing energies and I felt recharged after the visit. A little hard to get to but well worth it. A quite large reserve for the placement surrounded by the city suburbs, most of it pine forest on shallow soils in the more elevated parts, with some trees several hundred years old. There are some non-native species here and there, like northern red oak and larch, probably spread from parks. Polypores, insect life, lichens, and more indicate high ecological values. Running trails and forest paths criss-cross the area so it's all quite accessible. Several huge erratic boulders are spread across the area, one of many clearly visible features of the last deglaciation. Piękne miejsce Grimsta is a wonderful reservation with a wast green area and a lot of space to explore. I love the place because our dog can really run around and to what he does best, mischief! If you go down to the shore of Mälaren you will find a small café at “Kanaans beach”. Bring a friend, or find a new one here! Fint Varmt rekommendera till alla att vara i naturen Preserved wild just some steps close to town. Stunning in every season. Lovely Green Reserve, great for the family including the dog's who can run around free in the large green designated area. There is also a nice pond with different bird life and some great walking / running tracks through the forest. An outdoor gym is provided on the Grimsta entry side of the reserve. It is Easy to reach by public transport and it has Good walking trails. There are Clear indications for the walking paths and there are a lot of places to sit and admire the nature. Gorgeous open space, beautiful walks in the forest and a huge area for dogs to he free in! Grimsta naturreservat är en vacker och fridfull plats som lockar besökare med sin mångfald av flora och fauna. Med sina grönskande skogar, klara vattendrag och växlande landskap bjuder reservatet in till lugn och återhämtning.
