Favaios Vineyard: A Delightful Dive into Muscatel History As part of our Douro Valley tour, we had the pleasure of stopping at Favaios Vineyard for lunch and a fascinating insight into their renowned Muscatel production. It turned out to be a truly enjoyable and delicious experience. We had the opportunity to taste both young and aged Muscatel wines, and I must say, they were all absolutely delicious. Each sip offered a delightful profile, showcasing the unique characteristics of this special wine. Beyond the tasting, we received a small but informative of their cellars, which provided a glimpse into the aging process. What was particularly engaging was learning about the history of the cooperative and the intricate process of how their is made. It added a rich layer of understanding to the we were enjoying. All in all, our visit to Favaios Vineyard was a wonderful addition to our Douro Valley trip. The was superb, and the brief and history lesson made for a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable stop. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the story and taste of quality Muscatel. We had an incredible & lunch out here. Out host Anna was so knowledgeable and passionate about the subject that it was very obvious just how much she knew about what she was speaking! I learnt a lot about the winemaking process and bought a bunch of to drink later. The lunch was pretty fab too. The fish and pork were both quite delicious and they paired very well with the wines. The pudding at the end paired perfectly with the dessert wine! Overall a great experience. Would recommend it to all amateurs and professionals alike! Rude staff member ruined the tour. The was funky to say the least with food and pairings not in conjunction and not proper demonstration of the we were having. Great information about this region's making tradition. Amazing staff. Maria is such a nice person. We love the food and little Moscatel Do Douro! Highly recommended to everyone!
