We had amazing views of the with a set menu so we didn't need to choose our food. Excellent restaurant with a remarkable of the river. We didn't have reservations but they were able to accommodate us... we got a spot overlooking the but it was too sunny so we moved one table inwards but still had a decent view. This is a place for your special occasions! They start you off with special butters (truffle, salamon, etc), olives and bread. The truffle flavored butter tasted terrific and the bread was also well done. We kinda zoomed through and asked for more bread. Since we were to also taste the wines, I decided the take the wine flight - the wines themselves were pretty average especially considering the competition surrounding them. But their white wine which is apparently only offered at the restaurant was terrific - too bad we couldn't buy a bottle. Anyway, we ordered a cheese plate to soften all the wines - sipping wine, overlooking the - could easily spend 2-3 hours doing that :) For entrees, I got the black pork which came with an interesting herb, cream sauce - together with the pork it was terrific. The black pork is famous in these parts so they don't over flavor it and allow you to enjoy the meat. I really liked my food. We also ordered a fried cauliflower and salad - both extremely well made. For dessert - got the almond cake - wow!! It was divine - my wife and I were fighting to finish it off :) Fantastic experience, would be an awesome lunch stop while you are doing winery visits. Make reservations or you may not get as lucky as we were. I strongly recommend to have lunch in cozinga da Clara, good good and we loved the staff, they are very nice especially the male manager. He let us to choose to sit outside or inside. Actually we had chosen winewaker selection, which includes winery visit and wine pairing lunch. At first we think it's a bit expensive (70 euro), however now we think it's super value for money. We are so relaxed and enjoy very much here. I will give 6 stars if I could! Lovely setting on the edge of the river, food was excellent especially the steak. Maybe a little pricey other than that a very enjoyable experience We made reservations prior and had an amazing of the Douro river. The food and left a lot to be desired. The was very slow and it took forever to get our food and drinks. When I got my drink, there were flies in it and I had to send it back. The food was alright, nothing special, not worth the price in my opinion, you're definitely paying a premium for the view. If you can't get outdoor seats with the I wouldn't recommend spending the money for this place. Food was excellent and the setting beautiful on the river. a bit slow but great if you want a leisurely lunch. We had the chef specials (octopus, veal carpaccio), Iberian pork, risotto, monkfish, braised beef cheeks and all were excellent as was the desserts and wine from the quinta itself. No dia da reserva, fomos avisados que a mala de meu amigo, extraviada pela TAP, teria que ser recebida até 15:30 daquele dia. Como não haveria tempo hábil para chegar já que depois de um trem às 14:09, só haveria um às 18:00 e, meu amigo estava já há dois dias com uma única roupa, que além de tudo não comportava o frio da ocasião, ligamos para lá, primeiro para saber se poderíamos antecipar a chegada para 12:00 mas nos informaram que o restaurante só abriria às 13H e depois ligamos explicando toda a situação acima e pedindo um cancelamento. Eles foram irredutíveis e fui cobrada em 50 euros. Nunca mais faço um reserva nesse restaurante! Não sei se cabe juridicamente. We have had some great meals on our tour thru Portugal but this was one of the best. Excellent food and service. Overall, it was an ok experience, nothing special. Pros were the great over the valley, great presentation of the food, and the ice cream. Could have been 4 stars if the were better and the bread wasn't so ridiculously overpriced. The small loaf of bread slightly bigger than my fist cost 16 euros, 4 euros per person. We met newfound friends on the boat ride during the day and chose to go to dinner with them- John and Jenny .They were from London. We are from Oregon. The food at this restaurant was fabulous. The was exceptional. The setting was stupendous. All that sounds great right it’s the truth . if you could make advance reservations at the restaurant, you will be completely satisfied. Also, We also witnessed for younger individuals stopping grapes 🍇 at this facility‼️ We stayed across the valley and if we had a choice we would’ve stayed at this hotel as well .
