We visited Quinta de Tedo for lunch, tour and tasting. What a wonderful experience! We had fresh fruit, cheeses, salads and local wines presented beautifully and very tasty! Excellent and very informative tour of their facility, ending with the of their port wines. They make a very balanced and complex tawny. Once again, we arrived at a winery at the end of the day, an hour before closing, in hopes of a quick sip of wine. 😁 The folks at Quinta do Tedo were accommodating and took very good care of us. My wife and I had an informative, and tasty, sampling of their ports. By informative, I mean that one of their staff members, Bruno, gave us educational insight into the world of ports. The young man really knows his stuff, and was happy to share the differences between old and new ports. I had absolutely no idea that ports no longer age once bottled! Anyway, the folks at this winery/hotel really know who to treat their customers! Btw, this location also has nice views of the Douro Valley. We had a tour and wine tasting. The guide was great, full of knowledge and answered all our questions. The tastings are generously served, and it feels like every visitor receives full attention. One of the best rose I ever had. Highly recommended⭐ Beautiful location, but the experience felt overpriced and underwhelming. The was fine, but the pricing is misleading. The cheese and charcuterie board is listed as €35 “per 2 persons,” but if you come alone, you’re still charged the full €35 on top of the €35 — so €70 total. This is not clearly explained during booking and felt like a surprise charge. Won’t be returning Went for a Wine and we are not very experienced. Showed up and had dirty glasses. I’m not picky but this was disgusting. When I mentioned it, it wasn’t an argument but close to one. Glasses and wine weren’t organized and served in the same glasses for our group, spilled wine and uninterested host. Wine was really not that good either. We bought better stuff at the grocery store. For the price they charge, I was expecting a lot more. Finished our day at Quinta Pacheca and THAT I would highly recommend. To me Quinta do Teso is just a tourist trap.
