We enjoyed a pleasant stroll along the riverside, quite busy, plenty of places for refreshments. Beautiful place for a stroll along the River Wye or to just sit and watch the world go by. There are several sculptures to see and some lovely views of Ross-on-Wye. Refreshments are available in the nearby pub. Gorgeous place to , well-maintained close to a lot of dereliction and empty pubs which is a real shame. Information boards, places to launch kayaks etc. Plenty of benches. Shady and open areas for picnicking. Bins were all full and overflowing but it was a glorious day so probably been very busy. Parking available opposite very relaxing 😌 My partner and I recently completed a at Wye River, and it was both breathtaking and demanding. Nestled along the Great Ocean Road, the area is famous for its stunning coastal views, towering gum trees, and the ever-present sound of waves crashing in the background. The trail starts off deceptively easy, winding through dense bushland, where the air is thick with the scent of eucalyptus. As you climb higher, the terrain gets rougher, with steep sections that test your endurance. At points, the path narrows to barely more than a foot wide, with uneven rocks and loose gravel keeping you on your toes. But all the effort is worth it. At the peak, you're rewarded with sweeping views of the ocean, stretching endlessly, merging with the sky in a blur of blue. On a clear day, you can see for miles, and the solitude at the top makes you feel like you're the only person in the world. There are moments when the feels tough—especially on the steeper sections—but it’s one of those experiences that leaves you feeling deeply satisfied. Wye River offers the perfect combination of challenge and beauty, making the a must for anyone keen on testing their limits while being rewarded with nature at its finest. Just bring good shoes, plenty of water, and an appreciation for rugged, untamed landscapes I have been spending time here for as long as I can remember, the Wye is one of my favourite places. Ideal for a short walk, picnic, canoe trip, fishing or just a place to sit and relax. But not swimming, river gets deep towards Wilton. Reasonably well maintained, but watch where you tread, sadly not all dog walkers clean up after them! There is a public toilet (check out the lion sculpture), a lovely public garden and pub, the Hope and Anchor (currently closed). Couple of interesting metal sculptures by local artist Walenty Pytel. This review is weather dependent, on a nice sunny day this area is great for walks with the dog the kids or the whole family , decent hostelry near by does nice food and drink , and I've creams and coffees can be purchased nearby. Lovely walks with peaceful river views. There’s a beautiful riverbank a little further out near the bridge—just the right distance from the birds and ducks. The river was calm and perfect for a relaxing stroll. Our dog absolutely loved running around and taking a swim. A nice if it wasn't filthy from the flooding. Only 2 days ago but still. Nice open spaces for letting dogs off leads but it's not allowed for some reason!
