Today we actually swam there but I saw the other review about the ban and I searched a little. It seems like they banned the yellow part of the shown in the picture due to pollution. It's weird that we didn't see any sign about this and some other people were swimming too. So keep this in mind if you want to visit this beach. In general it's a very nice with a small part that is for free. It's easy to spot the free side where you can see people (mostly locals) sitting on the sand. The looked transparent and clean, it just gets deep very fast so be careful. Otherwise, great place to enjoy the sun. It is quite nice and beautiful here. We went there to eat some lunch and it didn’t get so crowded. Mostly the restaurants are still not opened. They open in the evening. The is not crowded ( on Tuesday) the parking costs 2 euro per hour but it seems they have some exception as it shows in the photo. this is a rock beach, the is very clean and if you dislike everywhere after going to the sea, this is the perfect place for you. the is made of small stones, about 5 cm across, the are very rounded so it is not as painfull to walk bearfooted as other stone beaches. Clean water, cozy beach, reasonable size - not too big. Two free areas on the most left and right side, only three paid bagni/stabilimenti, so the overal feeling isn't that it's too crowded. Bonassola is a small town after all. Sadly, in 2022 prices for an umbrella and two sunbeds are reaching almost 40-, EUR per day! Lovely little in a cute village that seems to get less traffic, as the coastal road from Levanto ends here. I went with my dog and had a lovely time – along with some locals and their canines. There's an interesting foot and bike path that runs through three tunnels from Levanto. A popular site for mobile homes, which can be parked along the sea. Nice with so many different colours of pebbles. Space for your own shadowtent next to all the rental parasols. On the left hand side you can look for nice fish 🎏 under water. Very clear blue waters. A good cappuccino at the bar. Parking 10 euro a day near the beach. What more do you want? Very nice beach, there are small stones on the not very much sand. Crystal clear sea. Nice view. Public strand free, renting parasol and 2 beds for one day 35€ gray or 40€ blue (sand) Beautiful purple beach, quiet and with cristal clear water. Very well organized. Pebble with some further from the shore. It's just a short(~20 min) stroll through the tunnels to get here from central Levanto. Deckchairs are available but pretty steep at €12.50 for the day (4+hours), tho they're cheaper for shorter stays and some limited spots are also available for free. Stating the obvious here, but a reminder for those of us who have been spoiled by beaches, the pebbles get super hot and the rocks beneath the are uneven and get hard to navigate when the waves are choppy. Had no problem with crowds the day we went (early sept 2020). Wonderful beach! You just have to be a fan of pebbles, which come in reddish and greenish colours :) All the sanitary facilities are kept in order! Sollte man bedenken!
