Modellbundesbahn

Brakel, Germany Rail museum

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Really interesting. A fantastic exhibit and with a very detailed and realistic scenery and lots of operating trains. The number of visible operating trains is just outstanding, the quality of the weathering is top notch, the staff is super friendly and answers all questions! This is truly a a model train enthusiast has to see! So much to see and watch happening. I can't wait to see how it expands in the future and will be back for sure! I wish there was a little more of a store and some simple refreshments, maybe a coffee and a pop machine. Fantastic, really nice lay-out to see. Incredibly detailed train diorama built and maintained by passionate people. Worth a visit even when you weren't 'that train kid' back in your youth. More of an experience for my son..he was cuffed to bits and had the day of his life. 10 euros per person though for what was offered? Maybe next year again when the extension is finished and the prices are the same Super. Easy 25 minute walk from the station (Brakel). Nothing fancy - solid “shed” with single door at one end. Parking near the door. The is a modellers delight! Sure, fun for the kids but this is about serious model railroading. If you are serious about your hobby, do some research about this place and go! It deals with a specific time and place - sorry, no ICE’s hooning around these tracks. It’s not just about period and location but also operation. I visited by train from Göttingen and I ‘m sure I spotted a couple of modelled landmarks on the way back. If I ever have the chance I will be back! We visited the exhibition in May. Having heard about the display in Continental Modeller some years ago, I had wanted to see the for myself. It was an impressive model that provided a great level of realism of the nearby real railway and well worth the detour we made to see it. My wife also enjoyed the display. The outside structure looks deceptively simple but inside a different 'world' awaits. It was good to have an English outline of the main details that can be seen. I kept on discovering new aspects of the over the couple of hours we spent there. The host who was one of the people who had constructed and ran the layout, was very welcoming and extremely informative about the process of their recent move to the new location. Top!!!!!!!
