Very nice street side location for a quick charcuterie and a drink. Very friendly and speedy service and very tasty food. Convenient to the busy river side attractions. A cute authentic stone walled bodega/ winery with delicious fermented and wines. After buying tickets to the 6 bridge cruise, we were given a free voucher for a glass of each, much to our delight. Staff are warm and friendly, foods are provided although we didn't indulge. Fab little place, just off the main drag. Stopped here after visiting Fonseca and the here was very good. 5 glasses 10€..good measures too. Other tasting options available. The tapas plates were good too.. generous portions and very reasonable. Cheese platter with sardine pate 10€. Excellent little place in a quiet alleyway, nice spot to sit and enjoy the varied menu. Tastings were a bargain, much more reasonable than by the river and good selection Fantastic local wine shop. Not too small and I believe they have indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a little off the beaten path, which is great because some of the bigger wineries are expensive and feel too corporate. The 2 of us came in for a tasting. We’re not big drinkers so we figured 1 tasting (5 different types of port) would be enough. It was more than enough! We barely walked out, I believe we staggered 😁. The glasses were a decent size and the was potent! We also ordered a cheese board and some cod, to snack on. Honestly, the prices were reasonable. When we came in, there was a boisterous group of Italians partying. The owner put on some Italian music and we had a karaoke hour. It was fabulous! The group engaged everyone in the shop and we all had a blast. The atmosphere is very chill, friendly and inclusive (like you’re part of the family). The waitress was very attentive but didn’t hover. As Americans, we’re used to the waitstaff checking in on us every so often, don’t expect that. Just acknowledge her when you need something and she’s quick to get it, but don’t expect the “check in” every 10 minutes. A perfect spot to stop off in Gaia and enjoy some and nibbles. We ordered two versions of their tastings (5 types each) to share between the three of us, plus their largest charcuterie and cheese board. It was the perfect amount. The pours are very generous, so we each had a good amount of the 10 glasses. Service was friendly and efficient as well. This place is #1 for service, staff, food , and drinks when in Vila Nova de Gaia. We stopped at several places while in Porto, and Vila Nova de Gaia, and this was by far the most professional establishment. The food and presentation is gourmet level, and the drinks were also amazing. Wow factor all the way for the employees at Rodrigo's! A great wine shop with Charcuterie to accompany it. We had a flight board of basic level wines for €14 which was more than enough for two of us. We accompanied that with a Cheese and ham board with Melba toast which was excellent quality, we also added some Sardine Pate ….. heaven. I went to taste the wine and they serve a small cheese board and olives without asking, and after that they charge you 9'5€. I know in many places they charge you for bread, olives or small snack, but ,2,3,4€ but nearly 10€ for something that I didn't order it just unacceptable. Very disappointed.
