The Gacka Springs cool water comes from underwater tunnels and caves from over half a kilometre away (at least this is how far and deep special divers managed to discover). Almost a century ago, the Springs were used to power Mills for flour. The deepest point is 92 m. and the caves spread 620 meters away from the Springs. You can buy flour freshly grounded the old fashion way. A few hiking trails suround the area. All btogether, a few hours nicely spent. Beautiful place for short visits and see old water mills. You can buy different types of flours directly from owners of the mills. Its beautiful and peaceful. Its not very big so if you are in the area then its a nice place to visit for sure. I strongly advice to visit. Unfortunately, the state of Croatia does not show any true effort, as for the majority of springs and sources in Croatia, to preserve, protect and evaluate and upgrade them so both Tonković vrelo (in a very poor condition) and Majurec vrelo (a bit better) are way under its potential and with low preservation with a tendency of devastation.
