Long sweep of sand on the north bank of the Tay with views across to Fife and the lighthouses of Barry Sands, a tarred walkway leads from Broughty Ferry to Monifieth and beyond and is a really good way to experience the scenery of a that is easy to get to from the trainline as the station in Monifieth is a 2 min from the beach, its very popular on a weekend with dogwalkers and cyclists and families enjoing a day on the sands. Beautiful tidy empty beach. New pathway is very flat and easy to along, wide enough for safety for cyclists and pedestrians, felt safe and enjoyable to to Broughty Ferry and back Excellent paths for walking along the coast. beautiful long beach, very clean sadly no shells lol Lovely clean sands with great walks and activities Nice place to hang out, good sea view and you get low and high tide. Timing are listed on the display. Lovely place to walk. Easy to access as you can park right next to the beach. Not crowded and even got Dominos delivered to the beach! My Mother likes to go for a drive. She isn't so mobile and I try to mix it up a bit. We don't normally cross the Tay bridge and turn right. It is a nice drive and tranquil. We reached Monifieth just as the sun was setting. It's a beautiful place but a photograph doesn't transfer an emotion. I suggest going. It's worth it. Very well laid out paths & lovely views of the river. It was especially good to in the warm sunshine. Public ablution block, lovely playpark for kids, plenty of green grass to picnic on, shell-picking and long walks, EV charging stations and lots of parking. Dog friendly, too.
