Hörte Brygga

Abbekås, Sweden Swedish restaurant

This place is well worth a detour, as it sits in a rather isolated village along the southern coast of Skåne. Between 11:30 and 16:30, the concept is rather simple but cool. Each person at the table chooses the source of protein (meat, fish or vegan option) and then everything is brought to the table on a tray: fresh bread, butter, salad, pickles and sauces. Everything taste really good and the service was swift and incredibly kind. What I tired was the slowly roasted pork belly coated in wild garlic and the smoked pollock, really really good. We also tired some cookies and a fantastic mud cake together with coffe. The lunch costs only 150 sek, really fair given what was included and the peculiar environment! Recommended! We came back for a family style dinner and it was fabulous, so here is an updated review. Some would say pricy (1500 sek / pp) but there was sure value for money. 4 servings + 2 appetisers and 6 drink pairings. We got some of the best wines we have ever tried, the food was real hearty and it was a very cozy atmosphere. Appetizers: Smoked el moth, Sausage on wild boar / deer Servings: Fried salted herring with "old man's mess" on dark bread, Mousseline on pike-perch / perch with mushroom sauce Main: grilled / boiled brisket with boiled vegetables, potato cake, pickled cucumber, red currant gel and a whole jar of sauce. Dessert: Almond and potato cake with marinated strawberries and whipped cream. This was served outside under a roof. Since the Swedish summer, especially by the sea, could be a bit frisky - thick fur coats could be picked up from a cabinet. Service was excellent, knowledgeable sommeliers that kept filling glasses and the chef came out between every serving, to check in with us. Between main and dessert a troubadour filled in with some guitar and a great voice. If the concept of family style dinners persist, we will come back next year to celebrate our anniversary. Went here today and got a "menu for two" with fish and meat (wish we could have tried the vegetarian option as well but we were quite full). Paired it with a nice bottle of orange wine and when the dessert clock rang we were quite happy. Even more so with the delicious almond cake. Will definitely come again. Their "long lunch" is super nice! Especially if you like smoky food. The smoked oyster mushrooms areone of the best things I've eaten in a long time! The service is also superb. Even though it is a bit pricey the food and service is much better than what you would expect at this price point. Delicious, healthy, locally produced food in a pleasant environment. Don’t be put off by the line, it moved quickly and was very worth it. Highly recommended!! Excellent food and interesting, natural wine. Great view of the sea. Very nice staff. The food was fantistic, and so was the wine and beer! The staff was also very nice. Will definitely come back! We make sure that every year we take the chance to experience Hörte Brygga as we know that we will get the chance to be inspired by what is happening in this idyllic little harbor! This year was not any different. What an amazing total experience where the food, service and location all play their special role! Thank you again for these wonderful memories we will cherish for a long while.
