The newly built educational center is fantastic where you have a chance to see animal health exam and surgery as well as food preparation. The giraffe feeding experience is lots of fun. Gift shop is also high quality with reasonable price. A zoo in Montgomery County. Good place to visit for families with young kids. Good place for field trips from schools or a weekend visits. They have Giraffe feeding and petting zoo as well. Very well maintained. They also have a few food joints. Ample parking. will have lots of fun. Gift shop is awesome. This zoo has always been a go to for a culture trip. It is currently undergoing major changes such as a new veterinarian center that is very impessive. They are also added more exhibits in the future. The neer garden is a touch. The staff is and the is easy. I'll be back. What a fantastic geared Zoo!!!... beautifully kept, newer structures, all animals were awake and joyfully. Staff was all amazing, attentive and knowledgeable. All HCP accessible (1 steep grade hill on interior of the though). Highly recommend A quaint little zoo in the suburbs. A place to spend some time, walk around, see amazing and if you have little children, play in a wonderful playground. They are really doing wonders with this zoo. Dog days at the zoo ! My boys were very curious about the at the zoo and vice versa. The zoo is small but very well maintained. We didn't get to see everything since there are areas that dogs are not permitted. It was both fun and educational for the whole family. What stood out even more was how thoughtfully the zoo is designed. It’s incredibly accessible for visitors with disabilities, with smooth paths, ramps, and plenty of seating throughout. Our member used a scooter (that you can conveniently purchase there for $15) had no issues navigating the grounds, which made the visit so much more enjoyable. There is a well-maintained playground, carousel and zip line – definitely some of the highlights for kids. The entire zoo was very clean, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about the animals. Highly recommend this zpp for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking for a fun and inclusive outing. 3 stars because this wasn't worth the and cost for adults. We came for the night Christmas lights but were very disappointed with how little they actually had. There was a decent amount of lights and decor but didn't feel worthwhile for the cost. There were many empty spaces that could have benefited from lights. Some areas should have had less spotlights that were quite blinding. From what we understood many of, if not most of the have been rehabilitated which is awesome. The jaguar was really cool. The eagles were also stand out. I came here recently with my & it was a experience overall. The zoo is laid out well with a good mix of outdoor extraction leading to indoors ones so you can cool off. It was an extremely hot day but there are most stations throughout the zoo to help you cool down from the sun. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the biggest attraction is the giraffes I'd say but feeding them is a 3 minute thing where as the wait is 20 minutes to a half hour. I was hoping to see more like tigers, lions, or even a crocodile but still an amazing place to take your little ones. It’s been awhile since been to zoo, very I see they’ve expanded it and my niece and I enjoyed our visit today. This zoo feels personal in the best way with wonderful exhibits of bison, elk, jaguar, sloth, and more. There was a play ground, food trucks and live music. A zoo and we will definitely be back. Perfect for little grandkids. The smaller than the philly zoo display makes it able to get through in about an hour. Well maintained and clean everywhere. The gift shop is a bit pricey so be prepared for the shock when your kid hand you a stuffed animal. My 5 year old son had a blast at this place and there was so much to do that we were there from when they opened until when they closed. Feeding the giraffes I would say was his favorite thing to do and they even have a red panda also. My son really enjoyed the playgrounds as well, all around it was a experience and a place to take children too. It has slowly improved over the years, which is always to see. Some have been moved or are just not at the zoo anymore. No matter what, its always a good had by all. This zoo is best for 12 and under, in my opinion. LITTLE ZOO. PS. I've been to smaller ones as well. The rest rooms are super clean, staff is very friendly, fast food fare and ice cream in the zoo, also a beer garden in the zoo. Misters in several locations to cool off, petting zoo (goats) closes at 4:30pm not 5pm like the rest of the zoo. A really playground and music station where and adults can show off their talents on the musical elements. The beer garden sits in front of a stream, which also contains many shaded areas to sit and watch the stream, for added peace and quiet. I paid 53.00 for me and my granddaughter. Those 65 and older will get a few more dollars off. I ordered tickets in my car in the lot and they scanned the barcode through the emailed tickets. If you order at the door, it's an extra 1.00 per person. It was a beautiful day at the zoo. The giraffe feeding is timed, so plan accordingly if you want to feed them for an additional fee. There's a shuttle that picks you up from the lot and drops off at the entrance if you can't walk far. 🦌 The Elmwood Zoo is a smaller zoo but it has been working hard to improve by remodeling and expanding. In 2024, it celebrated its 100th year anniversary and opened a Welcome Center and Veterinary Health Center. I had the pleasure of attending the official unveiling of their new Sculpture Fountain featuring a buck, doe and fawn sculpture. A bronze jaguar will be added in the upcoming year. The sculpture fountain serves as a centerpiece to the Welcome Center and honors their initial days when it provided a home to just three deer. The zoo has grown so much over the years and now hosts a diverse collection of animals, including giraffes, zebras, jaguars, red pandas, and tamarins. You can also see bison, elk, ferrets, and plenty of farm animals. Their animal houses are home to species like eagles, owls, American alligators, desert tortoise, and boa constrictors. The amphibian house features endangered species like the Panamanian golden frog. I was very impressed by the zoo's innovative improvements, including the enhanced and increased accessibility for all visitors. The new Veterinary Health Center is a highlight; visitors can watch through large observation windows as receive top-notch care. This zoo is incredibly welcoming, with lots of fun play areas for and even special 'Dog Days' that allow your canine companions to join in on the fun. It's truly a place for and friends to visit! We had an absolute blast! The at that point we're still pretty young and we're definitely captivated by all of the exotic creatures. The fact that in under half an hour's ride from phoenixville you can witness a Little slice of life on the Savana with your own 2 eyes. (Best part is you don't even need the malaria shot). Despite the DraStic difference in geography the themselves seemed nonplussed if anything they seem quite content with their current arrangement but it's not just the exotic you get to see. I personally like the otters and slippery little fellas are quite the showman and then of course the bald eagles what red blood American doesn't get all jazzed up over a pen full of bald eagles?! Personally I like the way that the makes an effort to acknowledge the local fauna by having interesting facts and exhibits focusing on more North American wildlife. Buffalo are huge man.. so are wolves. The is extremely walkable even with young children with tons of little seating nooks and benches to tuck into and rest up a few and maybe see some of the many free range critters that wander the park, (it's pretty much just squirrels and maybe a chipmunk). Only ding I have against it was the price of the concessions and the limited options/locations. But hey what else is new, thats just how it is everywhere. On the whole I recommend this to anyone of any age/background/social group to take a day and familiarize yourself with this lovely little oasis for the soul right in around the corner and down the way. Pretty small zoo- but that's exactly why you go!!! It has all the you could want- monkeys, giraffes, zebras, jaguars, etc. Very walkable and you can get around with a toddler in a couple hours. And they have an epic playground that the adore! We really were so excited about this one place. They recently spent a lot of and money revamping this place. It looks amazing and there are a few things that the can really enjoy such as the food, carousel, the zip line. However, and a Big However, the looked so sickly to us. The Bison was thin and didn’t move around once . The Gorgeous American Eagles, were stuck in a small outdoor cage, with no room to stretch their wings and fly, we felt so sad inside! We wish they would let them go home instead of keeping them caged. The only that looked semi happy were the goats in the petting zoo and our little one really enjoyed them. mid-sized zoo, modernized beautifully by recent renovations. The look healthy happy and well cared for, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the grounds are gorgeous. The new welcome center adds a layer of modern prestige to a classic setting. I found the food and drink to be excessively priced, i.e. $15 for a can of white claw or a beer. There are numerous stands with good options, but the modest ticket prices are definitely subsidized by expensive concessions. An unexpected highlight was that the kitchen where animals' meals are prepared is visible to the public and you can watch the workers prepare each creature's special diet. Highly recommended, budget about 2 hours or so, longer if you want lunch or a drink. Our loved this place! So many fun exhibits and interesting animals. It is worth it to pay to feed the giraffes. I loved the bison. Whatever you do, check out the otters. Wish the carousel was free. Regardless, an awesome wildlife in a neat area of Pennsylvania. Fun and affordable experience.
