Canyon of the river Čikola is a piece of nature's art. I visited it twice in summer when the riverbed is dry but nevertheless entering the canyon and feeling it's size and shapes is great. On it's northern side there is a parking lot, two built lookouts, the start of a zip-line and numerous directions for free climbing. There are few trails that enter the canyon, slowly descending to the narrowest part of it. One of the trails is a via ferrata which I found disappointing because it is described as a 2-km long route but the real "ferrata" is made of 6-7 segments which measure no more than 300 meters combined, with max difficulty level B/C. It is probably attractive when the water level is high. Anyway watch your step because the terrain is difficult (stone, gravel) and all trails are poorly marked. Very nice and free! You can take a well done walking trail to go down and then with an easy pass to the bridge were you see the old castle. Then on the other side a nice view point. The site was closed but unsecured. No information about the when where why and how much. Fun experience, but €50 for 3 ziplines is alot of money. We had a large group so had to wait quite long everytime. It is rugged, but beautiful place. In summer, go on evening or early morning because it gets very hot and there's no shade. Beautiful place, quite demanding physically, take a lot of water with you. I've used pointers of one person from here and took path to the right rather than more natural left. When you go left you will have very very challenging descent. In my opinion it is easier and safer to climb that part(no gear needed), hence taking the right path. Very beautiful place. Parking is on top of the canyon. Walking trail/path with 3 level, climbing route, caves ... Ideal for real nature lover's. Cikola river is on the summer dry so you can explore more. Also nearest (4km) is the spectacular fortress Kljucica. It is important to take enough water if you visit this place on the summer. Beautiful place! If you want to have a hike of a different kind - you should check out the Canyon hiking tour - at first it can be scary (and it is physically demanding to a certain degree) but it is definitely worth it - beautiful nature combined with exercise. If you choose to do it - you still should get local guides that provide you with the necessary gear :) Great starting point for a hike around the canyon.
