Great experience, and really value for money, 11 euros for each way on the railway, and admission. There is another station above the stop, with a panoramic view, this addition costs extra. Smooth and scenic ride up to Heidelberg Castle! The funicular makes the climb effortless and offers beautiful views along the way. A must-try when visiting the castle. Very nice. A bit crowded. You can not enter the castel in the main court without paing. 1-2 years ago you could. The city view is amazing. It does worth walking the stairs(~20 minutes) to get to this place. Huge place to sit on the grass near. Riding the lift up to Heidelberg is a unique you shouldn't miss. The old funicular railway feels like a journey back in time. The views over Heidelberg and the Neckar River are simply amazing when the train starts climbing up. Watching the town and the lush, green landscape spread out below you is a real treat. When you reach the top, there is a short walk to the and the views from the are just spectacular. The train can get a bit cramped up and crowded but it is definitely worth it. Title: A great with historic charm I visited Heidelberg for the first time and the mountain railway was one of the highlights. I really liked that you can go directly up to the or, with a change of trains, all the way to the top of the Königstuhl. The change is a nice surprise because the second section is operated by the old train. It is slower but has a unique charm that makes the ride special. It is also very convenient that the ticket for the railway includes entry to the castle. The views along the way are fantastic and the whole ride feels very relaxing. A small tip: depending on the time of day, you should plan for about 15 to 25 minutes of waiting time, especially in good weather or on weekends. Overall it was a beautiful and well arranged that I would recommend to anyone visiting Heidelberg. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The queue at the ticket office at the bottom of the hill was nothing compared to the wait in the middle, when transferring from the modern carriage for the lower slope to the veteran funicular to the top of the Königstuhl. When the sun is shining there is very little shade and just 2 benches for the sweltering queue. The view from the top is wonderful but it would have been nice to know about the delays in the middle. I would have chosen a quieter day. I have only paid for the scholss ticket (not panorama) , it was 11€ including the entrance to the castle. In my opinion, it's very much worth the money and the view from the is magical! Also the staff were very nice and helpful This was a valuable and travelling on up past the to the highest point provided beautiful views of the city and a nice place to stop and have a beverage (hot or cold). On the way up or down you could stop at the for a look around or a tour.
