I have always had amazing experiences and great entertainment at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. It was all down to a very poorly run opera venue where many members of the audience were allowed to get out their mobile phones during the performance, showing absolutely no manners or consideration. I have been to many Operas across Europe and there is always an expected etiquette that is followed of no mobile phones during a performance. Not here. Usually there is an announcement to turn mobile phones off but there wasn't one made at this venue. We complained to the management and asked for our money back but they declined. They said they usually make a mobile phone announcement but that members of the audience ignore it. I have never seen that before at an opera and it's the responsibility of the opera venue to make sure the audience have a good experience without inconsiderate people ruining it for others as was the case here.
