Ad un contenitore molto gradevole e ben tenuto, il cinquecentesco Palazzo del Marzocco, corrisponde un contenuto modesto, non all'altezza delle aspettative. Della battaglia di Anghiari c'è solo qualche pannello illustrativo ed un plastico degli schieramenti, di non elevata fattura. Il settore dedicato alle armi è molto scarno e le armi sono di secoli successivi a quelli della battaglia. Certo, si può leggere la storia affascinante della pittura murale perduta che Leonardo realizzò per il Salone dei Cinquecento di Palazzo Vecchio a Firenze, ma francamente la si può leggere ovunque. Le ricostruzioni virtuali basta renderle disponibili e si possono vedere più comodamente a casa. C'è qualche dipinto, ma sempre senza alcun nesso con la battaglia, tranne una copia seicentesca di parte dell'opera perduta di Leonardo e poco altro. La battaglia di Anghiari combattuta nel 1440 fra le truppe milanesi dei Visconti e la coalizione guidata dalla Repubblica di Firenze meriterebbe la presenza di oggetti reali e non virtuali. It's not that expensive and it provides a suitable view of the battle Visit only if you're intetested about this kind of history and battles. The tour inside this museum takes around 40 mins (We forgot to see the garden). There're 3 floors, you can find two 3D maps explaining where happened this battle, and how is the area. There're also paintings, materials of the battle. Then you can watch a short movie (in Italian & English) explaining about its history, then telling about the painting that exist in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. It's good also for kids because it's very simple, and not so boring. On the ground floor they sell collection of books also for kids, and some toys related to the battle, or Leonardo da Vinci in general. Nature Small but got everything.
