On the other hand apart from a short video there's nothing else going on at the museum. So you're certainly not going to be here all day and there's nothing else nearby. The main attraction is, of course, the room with the masterpiece by Piero della Francesca, where the lights are positioned perfectly. There are also two new rooms with a brilliant “theater-like” video that introduces Monterchi, the fresco and the painter. Very well done and strongly recommended. I visited the Madonna 10 years ago, and just needed to see that wonderful serene face again. Always totally worth the trip. The videos and interpretation material we excellent and in Italian and English. The viewing room for the painting even allows for women to come and pray. Very respectful.
