My family and I visited the Schmucker Brewery Restaurant for dinner one evening and we enjoyed a lovely meal. The surroundings were very nice and there was a garden area to dine outside if the weather was fine. Everyone enjoyed their meal, including our two small children. I recommend trying the Braumeister Schnitzel, which was delicious. For the record, their Meister Pils was very good too! The staff were kind, attentive and efficient - even when the restaurant became very busy later on. It turned out one of the staff was Australian (they get everywhere, haha!) so it was nice to meet her and chat about the local area. We didn't book a table, but arrived early on when the place was quiet. and there was plenty of space. If going later on, it may be wise to book as we had tried to go on a previous evening, but it was full up. A lovely family dinner - we would undoubtedly go back, if we ever have the chance. Try it! The Brauereigasthof was in construction when we came by the brewery. Because we were the only ones to visit the brewery on this Saturday we got a private tour through all the process halls. It was super cool. Alfter we learned a lot about the way of making good beer we got invited to try all the beers they had to offer. Great bear, especially Weizenbock. I was there with an organized tour. I saw the factory of beer production, it was fascinating as well. Great beer & food. Restaurant is immaculate, quality of food & service top class. Will stay again. It was very nice experience with tasty beer, very very good food and big portions. We had frikadele with potaoes salad, flammkuchen and bratkarroffel with kochkase ALL amazing tasty. Spent 2 nights at Hotel Schmucker during a mountain bike weekend shortly after the Covid lockdown in May. We were literally the only guests and had the full devoted attention from Uwe and Leah, the nicest hosts you can imagine. Turns out they worked 20 years in Australia and have been running this hotel for a few years. As 2 of us were aussies, we had a great time spinning yarns over heaps of amber nectar. Schmucker has a huge variety of really delicious beers. The hotel has lots of potential as the rooms still have a bit of an 80´s charm and the location is directly near opposite the 1960´s brewery, but if you´re after a great value for money place to stay with good German food and beer this is the place to stay. I would definitely go back. Comfi rooms in a great setting right at the brewery, still a quiet location. The staff and food is excellent. Beer...of course. 9 pin bowling in the basement. Beer garden. The new management really makes the difference! I'd go back anytime!!!! Under new management since early April, the staff are enthusiastic and welcoming which was appreciated. The evening meal seemed to be fresh local ingredients and was very satisfying. Real comfort food in my opinion. It was a little way from Michelstadt by bus (about 15 minutes) but a nice out-of-town stay closer to where I was visiting relatives. I thought the price of accomodation for two nights was reasonable.
