The entry is quiet expensive for what it is 4€! You will do the all visit in around 30-40 min and views are quiet nice. Nice roman ruins Interesting Roman which appears to have been a luxurious getaway with baths and gardens with fountains. They provide a map with 17 or 18 interesting things to see and a guidebook for when you want a little more context. It takes about an hour to around. In the summer, it's best to visit first thing in the morning or later in the day to avoid the heat as there is very little shade. ATTENTION ⚠ Several WASP NESTS ⚠ present along the pathway. Just in the hour-time during which we were there, 2 tourists and our son were stung. The reaction of the supervisor on-site was half a laugh + a "yes, wasps, we know, we know"!!! So, they know it, but they do nothing, not even put signs to alert the visitors!! The is very nice but it could be exploited much better One exemple: there is no qrcode to download the explanations/descriptions or, as done nowadays, launch an audio guide on your mobile, but they lend you an archaic home-made paper guide that everybody touches (in covid-time!) and then have to bring back to the reception. À very well kept archeological that is absolutely worth visiting. Ic you are travelling by camper there’s a parking just next to it but it’s not indicated so check the map first. Otherwise there’s a parking for 3 to 4 campers at the end of the road, à 5 minute walk. Fantastic site, one of the best. Lots of roman artifacts and information. Really worth a visit. Very relaxed explore yourself and decipher the way around. Worth a look . Very nice site! The is nicely organized and well described. The ticket box lady was knowledgeable and provided interesting additional information. We stopped at Altafulla en-route to L'Ametlla de Mar specifically for the Roman villa, having previously found the Ruïnes d'Empúries near L'Escala to be fascinating. We found parking in Altafulla to be challenging (Saturday lunchtime, late-August), but eventually located a spot on Carrer de la Fassina, a 15-minute from the villa. It took us roughly an hour to around the - including time spent in the entrance building. Positives: - The ground floor of the entrance building was very well air-conditioned! - The is a short from Altafulla's beaches, restaurants and cafes - Signage around the is in Catalan, Spanish and English - Entry is relatively inexpensive at 4€ per adult Negatives: - The welcome in the entrance building could have been much more ... welcoming - The is very small compared to some of the other Roman ruins in Catalunya (to be fair, it is only a single villa) - We found the numbered itinerary to be a little unintuitive, and we ended up unintentionally taking our own route through the site - Some parts of the may be unsuitable for younger kids. In particular, an area labelled as the "cisterna de agua" (photos of which appear in several of the reviews here) is a set of deep, empty reservoirs with minimal protection to prevent falls - Some parts of the like the "estancias calefactadas" have been rather unsympathetically reconstructed and/or covered - The storyboards in the upper floor of the entrance building are in Catalan only. You need to ask for a returnable booklet of translations on entry Summary: Best enjoyed by devoted Roman historians; there's not much here for the casual visitor. Head to Altafulla's beach and promenade instead.
