Some really pretty areas to sit and enjoy your surroundings with grass area for picnics, seating benches, pretty pond, water mill that comes on every hour or so and several craft and gift shops where you can find yourself a treat. There were also places to buy food and drinks that seemed popular with the tourists. Visit the gift shop dewn by the mill, the owner is really friendly and she sells some amazing glass art (look downstairs to see a huge range of gifts) Lovely cafe, My favorite place to visit, bonus on this visit as there was a ukulele band there, fantastic lunch from Cafe and bought some hand made soaps 5* Delicious food, beautifully cooked and presented. Lovely, helpful make you feel most welcome. Beware, the portion sizes are very generous so make sure you bring a hearty appetite when you visit! Highly recommended. Amazing little place to visit Amazing views A cafe just a few minutes walk from Tintern Abbey. The food is generously served. We ordered tea, rabbit pie and honey pancake. My partner was very happy about the rabbit pie and it was tasty with all the sides. The pancakes were a little disappointing as it was overly sweet and burnt. But the price was reasonable. (£5.50 or so) It is lovely to seat outside on a sunny day. Lovely place, beautiful setting. Food was very nice, but shame they only serve white bread, giving me a limited choice. However, the quiche was amazing and the salad too. Dog friendly, big bonus. Mill Wheel Teacake was nice, cinnamon butter a very touch! Bit of a challenge to order a beer. There were hardly any in the fridge, no menu and it was only by chance I saw the Morretti tap! Very picturesque and well appointed. Some wonderful shops, bars, restaurants and seating. Lovely old Mill parts visible and working. Took a walk and did some shopping. Aside from 1 member of in a little shop near the tea room everyone was lovely and cheerful, offering great conversation and service. The spirit of the green man shop was like a chunk of Glastonbury magic and I purchased a few beautiful and well priced items there, the gent that runs it is very nice, friendly and helpful Excellent eatery indeed ! Food fabulous and home-cooked, lovely. Plenty to look at afterwards, in interesting shops. Food was good (quiche, soup & sandwiches). Very dog friendly. Quirky craft shop and lovely gift shop full of work by local artists co-op. Lovely, magic and beautiful place. You can find nature, a camping, hotel and air b&b's, beautiful stores and small shops. The only "bad thing" is that you can't find a place for coffee or tea because they close at 16:00 the saturdays. But its an amazIng place Great cafe and shops. Well worth a visit. Superb afternoon tea. The food was home made and amazing. Highlights for me were the savoury pastry items, scotch egg, fluffy scones, Victoria sandwich cake and chocolate brownie. Thankfully, they gave us decent bags to take some home, as it was a very generous amount. Nicely served on china by polite and efficient staff. Only downside was that our table was right by the window with everyone queuing to be seated, inches away the other side of the glass. That's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. I guess we were just unlucky to have that table, others would have been fine. Excellent value for money. Dog friendly. Terrible food. Vegan pie wasn't at all, potatoes and veg were so bland no flavour. So dissapointed! 16 quid for bad food! Parnter had a pie to he disliked! We barley ate any of it! Treated our friends to Christmas Carvery Lunch at Abbey Mill yesterday! Genuinely warm welcome from the and restaurant looked really festive. Food was beautifully presented and brought piping hot to our table. We chose the beef, turkey and salmon with all the trimmings and friends couldn’t stop talking about how tender the meat was. Desserts arrived to hushed silence - sublime! Then teas, coffees and mince pies at our leisure. Atmosphere was very jolly and everyone really enjoyed themselves. A super lunch shared with friends, really good value plus plenty of free parking. ‘Wish it could be Christmas every day’… at Abbey Mill!
