Cafe is great, plenty for the kids to do and even has a ski slope. Pontypool Rugby ground is here Lovely park, very well maintained. Ever since watching Pontypool in the 70s on BB2 Rugby Special, always wanted to go. One of the most picturesque and iconic grounds I visited and fortunate to watch a great game as well Took a trip here to let the kids burn some steam, trust there is plenty of space for it. Currently the cherry blossom 🌸 is out. A couple of ponds around and generally quite tranquil. The only negative is currently the ski slope is not open. Not sure if this is a season thing or a financial thing. There are walks galore. Always a lovely place to go, grown up going here. The is lovely for dog walks, good run, leisure centre is great, love the cafe and pool! This expansive has lots to see, making it a great place to spend an afternoon with kids. We took a walk through the and into the countryside, which the backs on to. We particularly liked the little clock tower, the orchard, the cherry blossom avenue, the mini maze, and the multiple ponds. Some things in the did look a little worse for wear, such as the maze, which had multiple holes in the hedges, the first pond we came to, which looked rather stagnant and the toilets which were decidedly unpleasant. However overall the is well maintained, and it looks like the playground is fairly new. We enjoyed watching ducks, fish, and tadpoles in the ponds near the dry ski slope. There were great views near the stone circle on one side and near the shell grotto on the other and were lots of woods to explore. It was also nice to see that there is a skate park, providing something to interest teens. Lovely local place for walks, clean, playground, lovely for picnics and bit of a history. A tranquil place when the weather is right to stop, sit and breath when in passing being just off the A472/A4042 roundabout or pontypool roundabout. Riverside walks, grassy hills and if on the day you may catch sporting events at they're Rugby Football club on site. As well as taking part in its fitness center and bowls Green. Historical details of its Town is just across the road aswel. One of the best parks in the area. Our children could not stop having fun: slides, swings, areas for scooters/bikes, nice and looked after grass for football games. Also, there are toilets next to the and baby changer in the leisure centre toilets just a few meters away. Ideal for pickings too as there are a few tables to sit down comfortably with the kids. Just to finish our day we went for a walk to the pond and that was the cherry on the cake. Highly recommended.
