Fine bar This may sound strange but I've never really noticed this pub before. We were in Bray to admire the lights but we were somewhat disappointed by them. So walking along the seaside we stopped at O'Driscolls for a Christmas pint. We would have gone inside for the warmth but we had our dogs with us so outside it was. There was no external heating, just a couple of tables and chairs. My wife got the first round while I went in for the second which was dropped out to us by a lovely barman who chatted to us for about 10 minutes. Inside was pleasant and it looked busy but not too busy. COVID certs were asked for but as we were drinking out in the cold (his words) we didn't need to show ours. I'm not sure if they serve meals but we had two packets of Manhattan crisps which are lovely. We would have stayed for another drink but I was too cold and I needed to go home for some warmth. So we asked our daughter to come collect us, we had done enough walking to get here. It would be nice if they provided some form of outside heating as it's a pleasant seating area where you can watch the world go by. Update: For dog owners, if you ask nicely they will probably allow you to bring your dog inside. One day we were sitting outside when it started to rain, a staff member asked us if we wanted to bring our dogs inside. So in we went with our two dogs and stayed for another few drinks 😁 Did not try food. Stopped in while wandering around. Very nice, friendly bar tender. Very clean and comfy place. Late afternoon and place was quiet. It's a lovely bar. Friendly barman, a grand place for a and a chat and it has a very good wine list....lovely view of the seafront there is outside sitting too. Great pub, it's quiet but a great spot for sport and a few drinks. Never too busy that you have to wait for drinks. They don't do food but it's very cozy. The toilets are always clean, staff are friendly and attentive and prices are fair. Right on the seafront and the pints are definitely in the top 3 of the town. What can I say, lovely of Guinness on the seaside! A bit of a weird place. Completely empty when all other bars were busy. I did not feel welcome and some shaddy clientele. Probably the best run and managed establishment in Bray.... What can I say, only it's a wonderful bar from the time I walked in the door it was a friendly experience the staff were brilliant and full of information about things to do around the area. If it's a friendly and what to do around the area it's the best place to go, well worth a visit and the is great as well. What a great pub. Paul was working both nights we were there. What a gentleman. Lovely pub inside and out. Great pint. Sat outside one of the nights and we were looked after so well. Highly recommend. Stop by for a "visit" at 9am just to take a picture, because my wife's maiden name is Driscoll. Owner Jackie happened to be opening up for the day. Had a wonderful conversation with him about the O'Driscoll's of Ireland. Did not even go inside but was a perfect 15 minute talk with a distant relative(?). Thanks! I went here August 12th, 2023. I have to say, this is the best bar ive ever been to. I will come back one day. The service was perfect, the drinks were delicious, and the overall vibe was unmatched. Nice seaside bar on the waterfront. Friday evening was quiet but not too busy. Good spot.
