I've been here twice and the food is really good and the staff are nice & friendly. On my last visit I got Baked cod and it came with mashed potatoes and a selection of fresh vegetables & sauce. My friend got garlic mussels in a cream sauce. We both enjoyed our meal. I would recommend this place. Had a lovely lunch at The Castle Inn in Wicklow with a friend. We made the most of the sunshine out in the beer garden, which had a really chilled, welcoming atmosphere. The food was proper pub fare, comforting and full of flavour. I ordered the surf and turf. While it tasted great, I was a little disappointed with the small portion of seafood, especially for the price. That said, the dish was still enjoyable overall. What stood out most was the service. The lady who looked after us was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. My friend is a local and often comes here, and I can absolutely see why. A relaxed spot for a casual bite and a pint in good company. Delicious freshly caught local seafood, and wonderful service … count me in every time ! Stopped off here after a daytrip to the beach.Really impressed with the food here, better than most seafood styled restaurants that charge a fortune. Really extensive fish menu, from the staples of cod & salmon to plaice, lemon sole and crab claws. All at a very price. I got lemon sole, simply grilled with a bit of lemon and black pepper, and cooked perfectly. It was served with creamy mash potatoe, croquette, veg & tempura prawn with a lovely light batter and big juicy prawns. Have to say this ranked as one of my top meals, and will be back. Fish specials are inside on blackboard. My partner had tortellini in a rich creamy sauce very nice, and there are lots of non fish options too It’s a while since we’ve eaten here but have to say the food and service this evening was absolutely top notch. The broccoli soup was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass and prawn tempura. As good as any much more expensive Dublin restaurant. The welcome and attentiveness of the staff was brilliant. Well done folks. We only live 15 minutes away and will be coming more often. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Experience at The Castle Inn My family and I visited The Castle Inn today, and it was an absolutely exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was flawless — every dish, from the starters through to dessert, was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. You can really tell that care and passion go into every plate. The service was equally impressive. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal, making us feel genuinely welcome. It’s rare to find a place where both the food and hospitality are this consistently excellent. The Castle Inn truly exceeded all our expectations. We’ll definitely be returning — highly recommended for anyone looking for incredible food and a wonderful dining Came here and had Sunday lunch with wife. Greeted by Bar Staff who were lovely. Had Fish and chips with a lovely salad and THE best Gravy I 've tasted in a long while.. Keep up the good work!! For little town, this place is a gem. Ordered steak and lemon sole. Everything was very tasty and fresh. Waiting time about 30 min enough of time to have a pint. Happy to come back for more.
