Cafe New York in Langenfeld came recommended and deserved a visit. It offers ample seating with lots of large red parasols and a diverse menu with a variety of dishes. Some popular options include baguettes, salads, burgers, schnitzels, steaks and thin-crust pizza-style dishes. Their portions are generous but the food was just ok, in terms of taste and flavour. They have an extensive drinks menu and some pretty good cocktails. The overall ambience is quite pleasant, with a lively weekend atmosphere when we visited for a Saturday lunch. The service was a bit on the slow side but they can be forgiven since it seemed like a busy weekend lunchtime crowd. I was visiting Langenfeld for a few days and decided to try cafe New York’ New York burger with the rest of my party. Firstly the portion size is huge, no matter what you order and therefore the price is very reasonable. The burger which came topped with onions cheese and a special sauce was around 13 euros. To be fair, the restaurant is very clean, as are the restrooms (WC). The food is mediocre at best. The olives in the greek salad were not even Kalamata olives. Instead they were the regular olives from a can, which have no flavor. The pommes frites were full of oil, very greasy and the seasoning had a sweet taste to it - not very good at all.
