There are some thermal waters and places to stay for a quick visit. Highly recommended stop in your Douro Roadtrip right on the there (no sulphur and probably unrelated to the got spring) it's the first time living 3 years in the country I've ever experienced sun bathed warm water in Portugal. in the late evening after sunset in a 30ish C degrees summer day in August, i'd say water temperature was at least 27C. it was surely warmer than a 26C pool i've tried in a finish spa in the winter, although the sauna might have tricked me. and much warmer than the 26C thermal pool on Azores in a July cold summer day. very well worth the accidental trip (wasn't there for any water)! Quaint little village along the banks of the Douro river. A couple of hotels, 3 bars and a very small selection of shops. Small Marina area for boats, and regular taxi service if you want to either sight see or maybe travel a bit further along the river. Água termal muito boa. Penafiel as termas estarem fechadas. Local fantástico One of the best sightseeing of Douro channel. A superb site to relax. Come to visit! Wonderful view of the Douro valley and really great waters for a nice splash, warm, comfy and great trip for a day from Porto! Lovely place by the Douro river.
