Piscine couverte du Cossy

Nyon, Switzerland Indoor swimming pool

It's alright, no frills municipal for people doing lengths and a small kids pool. Clean, well maintained, good service, no lift access though, and nowhere to put a pushchair really, but other than that pretty good. Newly built yet entering the changing area feels like you're entering a soviet era minimalist parallel society that has not yet discovered simple technology (bring your own padlock?!?!?) Sunday morning with a toddler: The kids is fantastic. 60cm at the shallow end and about 1m30 at the deep end. It's far bigger than most kids pools and has steps all the way down one length of the meaning there is always space to let a child regulate their own depth and to feel comfortable. It's not as warm as a thermal bath but warmer than most of the indoor pools around here (I'm looking at you, Cheserex!). My 2 year old was able to play gently for an hour without shivering. We arrived at 09:30 on Sunday morning and had the kids to ourselves the whole time. The changing facilities are very good with enough space for hundreds of people. Just DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR OWN PADLOCK!!! People in Switzerland wouldn't steal your stuff anyway, but it's a peculiar setup. Family ticket: 3chf Kids under 6: Free!! Yay! Update: the temperature has been reduced by 0.5C Great new for adults and a smaller for toddlers. Open changing rooms with lockers, and open showers. No side-seating or spectator area during competitions. Good life guards, attentive. Two of the walls are full glass walls with view outside. Good lighting during day and night. Very small waiting area indoors with no seating. Automatic ticketing machine. No cafeteria attached to but there is a cafe nearby (3 min walk), a Denner, hairdresser, pharmacy and health store. Recommend it. I visited twice. I do not like that changing room is downstairs, you get cold after swimming. Also the fact that ticket can't be used as a lock. So you have to think and come with the locker. Also the floor around the is slippery. It has enough lines for swimming, though no cafeteria, or space to watch. I prefer to go to Cheserex. 25 meter with close parking spaces. Great facilities, super clean and helpful staff! Mixed washing/douche areas but was not uncomfortable. I appreciated the existence of high quality lanes separators and flags for those who swim backstroke so that they know when to make a turn. The water temperature was ideal for people training. The opening hours are also the best possible! Everything was perfect! Well done for providing such services! Spacious building, clean, friendly staff, parking places available in vicinity. Looks and still feels new. Facilities very clean and efficient with plenty of space. Good value for families. Kids / non-swimmers is however very small - especially when there is a class going on at the same time in one half of it A great place to swim. However, be aware, on Google it says that it is open, but in fact it is closed from 30 June 2024 until 2nd September 2024. They have not updated their information on Google.
