Footpaths are well marked and also numerous - there are many side-tracks that lead to attractive landmarks and peaks. Flagship peaks Samarske stijene and Bijele stijene are the checkpoints of Goranski planinarski put. Proper exploration of the whole area takes at least two whole days. It also takes a fair level of physical condition and climbing technique as the terrain is very demanding. All who consider themselves mountaineers should visit this at least once. Near highest of Gorski kotar, Bjelolasica, and huge Klek rock, Bijele i Samarske Stijene are very attractive area with a lot of weird, amazing and frightening rock formations. Bijele Stijene (White Rocks) are higher and more visited, but Samarske Stijene (Samarian Rocks) don't have less beauty while walking through. Great half day trip with incredible scenery. The trail is very poorly maintained, especially down in the forest where the trail is partly overgrown. I wouldn't recommend doing this hike without a guide and some kind of climbing gear. They arent aggressive just watch where you're walking Beautiful landscape, preserved nature and a trail that can be quite demanding in places (Stepenice for example).
