Especially with the actual relics of Teresa's heart and arm, and also the fact that she died in this very convent, and her room is there for you to view. Small gift shop in the museum, but I think the other gift shop (run by the Carmelite friars) is cheaper, and is just across the same street, 1min away. An unforgettable experience! It’s located in the convent where Saint Teresa of Ávila passed away, and you can actually the small room where she died. The museum also holds some of her most important relics—like her heart and arm—along with religious art, old books, and objects from daily convent life. Right now, something historic is happening: the urn where her body has been kept is open, and both the heart and body have been placed inside the convent for canonical studies. It’s the first time in almost a hundred years that such an event has taken place, making this a truly unique time to visit. Visit to her cell and some other places in the church are restricted during the Holy Mass. Well worth a to the tiny town of Alba de Tormes.
