It's ok and nice for a quick hike. But nothing impressive whatsoever. A few old wall ruins and some decent views at the edge of Apuseni mountains. Very nice hiking opportunity. Suitable for kids as well. The takes about 40 mins to finish and the elevation difference is about 150 meters. The view from the top is just amazing. The walk is really easy, be careful once you get to the with the Cetatea Liteni sign, make sure you don't miss the on the left through the woods. Don't follow the main road. We got lost a little bit, but then we managed to find the secondary that leads to Cetatea Liteni. It is sad that the secondary doesn't have any indication to the fortress. The view is amazing once you get there. It is a lovely place!! Surprisingly clean. So dear people, if you can't keep your trash to yourself, don't go. Cetatea este o ruina neintretinuta cu un potential turistic mare. Privelistea din anumite zone ale cetatii catre imprejurimi este superba. Atentie mare, mai ales daca aveti copii cu voi, deoarece sunt unele zone periculoase in urcusul de la baza cetatii si chiar si in cetate pe anumite portiuni. Urcusul pana in apropierea cetatii nu este unul dificil dar recomand macar niste papuci de hiking decenti. You can either start the trip from Liteni, either from Moara de padure. Any direction you choose the sign is a red triangle with white edges. From Moara de padure it is easier to see where the through the forest starts, as it is marked on a pole. From Liteni, there is a sign on the right part of the (as you come from Savadisla/Vlaha), very close to a bus station. It is an trip, any season it's worth visiting, as the landscape, the fortress and the forest are beautiful! Pretty place and ways to access the citadel. However, it pretty much lacks in signs, but once you start is pretty obvious how to reach. Views are nice and the effort is minimum. Pay attention when muddy, it gets slippery. An amazing place for nature, history and archeology enthusiasts. The fortress renders against a beautiful landscape, carved with limestone and shiny peaks in the sun. Nature offers different sports such as: hiking, running, mountain biking, gliding etc. Unfortunately, the fortress is in an advanced decomposition state and care is required for both protecting yourself and it for further damage. A short walk through the wood and a bit over 3 km to get there. It's better to have proper equipment, although the isn't steep. It's a great place for a walk, to enjoy the surroundings, and discover a fortress in ruin. O cetate interesanta la care se ajunge pe un traseu ușor in 30-40de minute. Climbing the ruins is a bit of an "adventure", but should pose no issues for a regularly fit person. Beautiful views and great air to refresh those lungs! There are two different ways to reach the citadel ruins. Either the "long way" via Liteni village, which is an super approachable hike, with no steep climbing, or via Moara de Pădure (shortly after Băișoara). The latter is a considerably shorter (15 minutes regular speed), however the is through the forest and the is steeper and on a less threaded path. It is, however, very beautiful and should pose no issues with proper hiking equipment and no preexisting physical conditions :). Extra: great spot for paragliding near Liteni!
