This is a well known in the Fermoy area. People will recognise the enormous on the top of this from the M8 motorway. The was erected in 1933 but the site itself dates back some 3000 years to the bronze age! The mound at the summit forms ‘Carn Thiernagh’ and it is said that the Druid Mogh Ruith is buried here. Encircling the summit are the remains of a ring fort which dates to the early Iron Age. The to the summit is accompanied by the Fourteen Stations of the Cross. These are depicted by large stone monuments on the route. The itself is really nice and the forest is largely evergreen commercial forest. The trail is not taxing and a mild gradient. It's not a great place for dogs as they are required to be on a lead at all times. On a sunny day the views from the summit are magnificent. Great spot for a short to the top of the hill. There is a nice view from the top, where a large is mounted. There is also a pile of stone from it's early history. I would love to have known more about the history of the site. The 15 minute from the car parking to the at the top includes a series of signs with images from the Christian 12 stations of the cross. Csodálatos élmény már a felfele vezető út is. Took about 3 hours to do big circle. With a 4 year old that was good loved exploring the toadstools. The forest is located on the sides of the hill. Therefore, the roads always go up or down. Large trees create shady alleys, with breathtaking views opening up from the top. A wonderful opportunity for rest and relaxation. Only occasionally does the loud sound of transport come from the highway. Lovely place for a with the dog and beautiful views from the top Amazing trail to the and lovely loop in the forrest An amazing place to visit. Hilly area but nice walking trail. If you love nature, birdsongs and walking, it should be a never missed place. Awesome view from the top of the hill. There is a large monument over the hill as well. Located at the middle of Rathcormac and Fermoy. Beautiful and peaceful . Different trails you can take. Beautiful views of surrounding countryside from the top at the cross. Really lovely forest and great walk. Recommend anticlockwise route for best views. Very beautiful place the stations of the on the way are beautiful the weather was fantastic March 2025 if you start from your left rather then follow the blue arrow it's much more straightforward My first time at Corrin woods, really enjoyed my first visit had a lovely 1 hour 30 minutes , and finished off with a picnic.
